Most laptops today can play any game released high settings without AA except stuff like crysis and empire. Key point here is without AA.

It's really dependent on what kind of machine you have and who made it. An Asus or Alienware, for example, can handle probably anything except the brand new top-of-the-line machine-whippers if it's got any of the hardware stats those companies are known for. What're the stats and who's the manufacturer?

Civilization 4 is amazing, and has a huge selection of mods available (I recommend Rhye's and Fall of Civilization). I have it on my laptop, and it's great to boot up a game because you can play for a short while or have a game last a very long time.

Get a gameboy emulator, though the legality of playing it is questionable.
