Hey for Christmas, I got some of gift cards for game stores and I haven't really been keeping track of the game market like I use to. I have enough to get a new games, or a couple older/used ones. I'm more of a shooter and action person, and only have xbox 360 and a wii. any suggestions?

Bioshock. If you haven't played it already, you were never alive.

The Orange Box is a must.

Ass Creed 2 was pretty good as well.

Borderlands, you can get a lot of hours out of that game, and fallout 3

Now if you'll excuse me I have bass to play and lyrics to sing!

Well for the 360 i would get some Microsoft points, just in case you see something that catches your eye in the arcade(Marvel VS Capcom 2 for example), and Dynasty Warriors Gundam 2.
A buddy of mine has it and says its a really great action RPG.

On the Wii i highly recommend the Metroid Prime Trilogy.
3 of the best First Person Puzzle RPG Shooters for $50.

if youre after a fighting game... Soul Calibur VI is excellant...

and, Saints Row 2 is definately the most fun ive ever (i mean ever, its not an exaggeration) had on a game.

and everything else id say would be considered bad advice i guess...

Seconded. Soul Calibur is still my favourite 3D fighter and saints row 2 is also the most fun i have ever (seriously, ever) had on any game. In co-op it's even better.

Since my recomendations were already ninja'd from me, I'll say for Wii, get Okami; easily one of the greatest games on the system. And maybe some points cards. There are some great games you can get with 'em (CoughSonic3cough).

My friend keeps telling me to buy fallout but it would use up most of my money...right now im think orange box, soul caliber, pre order bio-shock 2, or just point cards

If you want an intelligent shooter get Orange Box like others have suggested...but then again those games aren't for everyone and if you want one with entertainment value I hate to say this but get Halo 3 or MW2.

LoL, I'm really going to get flamed for that....>=D

In case you get stuck buying all the slightly newer games (like Arkham Asylum or Assassin's Creed 2), there are a few you might find in the bargain bucket that are worth looking out for (I only have a 360 so my list is entirely one-sided):

Burnout Paradise; Viva Pinata Trouble in Paradise; LEGO Star Wars the Complete Saga; Ninja Gaiden 2; UFC Undisputed 2009.

The reason why I bring this up is a) because I agree with nearly everything that's already been said and b) if you're using stuff on a coupon, you'll want to spend all of it in one go.

The thing about this list I've drummed up is that each of these games has a demo already on XBL, so if you've got access to them give them a try through there first.

Also, don't discount Viva Pinata and LEGO Star Wars just because they're slightly "kiddie" games. They won't test you as much as say, Ninja Gaiden 2, but they're a lot of fun.

i thought it worked great.
My only problem's with the Wii-mote controls were that even if you locked onto a target you still had to aim the Arm Cannon yourself and to switch between visors and weapons(in the first 2 MP's) you had to bring up the menu and aim the curser on the item you want to use while you were still being attacked, preventing you from attacking and running while switching Visors/Weapons.
Other than that i thought they made the game's easier.

Bioshock, Psychonauts and Morrowind.
would psychonauts and morrowind work on a 360?
According to the user review section, psychonauts is on the Xbox 360 backwards compatible list and is available for direct download through the Xbox Originals program. I assume Morrowind has a similar feature but I cant be certain.
