Well, I have a decent headset for all my gaming needs, but for most of my games to be a proper experience, I need a microphone.

I have a budget of...let's say £35 for now, but I will be able to push that to around £50 if the gear is really worth it.

I am obviously only interested in microphones, no headphones. I was thinking of one to fit around my ear maybe?
Something to note: It cannot be wireless. I had a wireless mouse, and because quite a few of my games take almost everything my laptop has to run, it did not work properly. My wired mouse works just fine, so I am guessing it will be the same with microphones.

All I really need is a microphone that will transmit my voice smoothly to the other 3 people playing Left 4 Dead 2 with me, and various other games. My current Mic. - built into my laptop, is stupidly placed right above the speakers, so it sends everything the speakers are outputting as well as my voice.

I am asking here because, simply put, I have searched around the interweb and spent hours looking through catalogues, but as with when I needed a decent mouse, I have no clue where to begin. Information is scattered and no forum website seems to have a clear-cut answer. So, I'm sorry if it seems I am dumping a search on you guys, but really I'm not aiming for that.

Better to ask a group of people who will know what they're talking about than buy the biggest pile of crap because I don't know what to look for, eh?

Any help and results is/are much appreciated. I will hand out cookies like there is no tomorrow =D

Don't we all.

OT: there's plenty for 15-20 bucks around here, not sure how it is over in Europe. I don't suppose you have a Staples store over there.

Yeah, there is one quite near me actually. Staples are awesome.

Well, my Logitech headset (can't remember the model) is pretty good. Logitech are always reliable.
Yar, I have been told that for almost anything, LG is the best option. What can I say, Life's Good ^^

EDIT:

Ok, read that wrong. LG/Logitech...you know.

Logitech are also always reliable.
