I just got into graphic novels and I was wondering if you guys could suggest to me some good reads.
I own:
Wanted
Watchmen
V for Vendetta
I like ones with a lot of action in them, but I'm open to any and all suggestions. :)

If you can bend the rules a little bit, Metal Gear Solid the Digital Graphic Novel is worth a try.

You can never go wrong with Frank miller's Sin city.Unless you have an unnatural phobia of blood and gore, in which case stay away. STAY FAR AWAY!

Ronin
Hard Boiled
The Dark Knight Returns
Martha Washington Goes To War
Sin City (all of them)
300

Well, crap, I'll shorten it a bit and say, "Anything written by Frank Miller, double for the ones he also drew."

Others you might look into:

Cerebus

X-Men: God Loves, Man Kills

Outlanders

Akira

Anything illustrated by P. Craig Russel.

There's a graphic novel adaptation of Proust's Remembrance of Things Past that's very accessible for those who fear paragraphs or stream of consciousness.

Kabuki - David Mack
Arkham Asylum - Grant Morrison/Dave
McKean
Desolation Jones - Warren Ellis
Preacher - Garth Ennis
Ex Machina - Brian K. Vaughn
Powers - Brian Bendis
The Invisibles - Grant Morrison

Are you open to manga as well, or just western graphic novels?

Sure mshcherbatskaya, i'll take suggestions for good manga too. At the local bookshop, graphic novels and manga are right next to each other, so I don't think a peek in manga would hurt. :)

Outlanders and Akira are good starts for manga, IMO. msh certainly knows more...

And great call on Arkham Asylum, msh. That mixed media style is awesome. Which reminds me......

STRAY TOASTERS!!!!

Girl Genius [http://www.girlgeniusonline.com/], by Kaja and Phil Foglio. It's available in graphic novel format, or on the web with a new page every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. (For nigh unto six years, now.) I've been tossing around the idea of writing a review for it for a week now... maybe I'll crank that out on my days off.

The Dark Knight Strikes Again - basically Batman Returns but with Bush and Chaney.

Also, it will come out soon - All Star Batman and Robin - crazy pissed off Batman.

Also the new Nova is pretty good.

The League Of Extraordinary Gentlemen- Alan Moore
Sandman- Neil Gaiman
Hellboy- Mike Mignola
The Simping Detective (from 2000AD)
Necronauts (also a 2000AD)
The Pro- Garth Ennis (as long as you aren't too prudish)
Hellblazer (almost all of them, but Dangerous Habits is a good starting point.)

One pretty cool graphic novel I've read is called We3 - it's about a dog, a cat, and a rabbit that were abducted by the U.S. Government and turned into cyborg killing machines. They're slated for destruction once their "trial run" is over, so a sympathetic scientist allows them to escape. They evade the military while pursuing a vague sense of the "home" they had before the experiment - kind of like that movie "Homeward Bound", except the animals are kick-ass cyborgs. It has some awesome action scenes, and a thought-provoking, poignant, and at times disturbing storyline.
