hi guys,

so, I'm up in uni and I didn't have enough room to bring my ps3 up with me, and with final; fantasy 13 out and the fact that I've finished dragon age means I'm feeling like a good jrpg to sink me teeth into, anyone got any good suggestions?

thanks in advance,

On the PC...shit...this is really freaking hard. There's barely any JRPGs on PC, yet alone good ones...

I've got nothing.

Barkley, Shut Up and Jam: Gaiden.

Grandia 2 and Last Remnant are both good ports. There are also these things called emulators.

Most anything that is PC and "RPG" (using that term as loose as possible) that comes from "j" you would have to be over 18 to play and can usually be played with one hand.

I hold myself up for n00b crucifying when I say FF8. Back in 1999 or whatever it was, I enjoyed the crap out of it.

Final Fantasy 8 was released for the PC, as far as I remember.
It wasn't really good though.
So, ummm... none?
Final Fantasy VII was too, my brother happens to own it.

Other than that, sorry man you'll have to get a WRPG. But hey, Dragon Age is a WRPG so what's the problem?

Final Fantasy 8 and Septerra Core are the only ones i've played.

Oh, and The Last Remnant, a game that i could never bring myself to get into no matter how many chances i gave it.

Holy crap. Someone else who's played Septerra Core!

Perhaps you could use an emulator too?

A good PC jRPG would be Grandia II; at least according to my brother.

My, PC JRPGs. Those are pretty rare. I'm not a very good source on these things, but you could probably find an emulator to run the (older) Final Fantasy games on.

Last Remnant is the latest one, but other than that... I dunno, often overlooked and western Septerra Core?

Grandia 2?
OH SHIT! I forgot about that.

I second this game.

Thanks for reminding me...I wonder if its Windows 7 capable...
Well, I know it's a pain in the ass to get it working on Vista.
How much so? I'd like to know what I'd be in for. I have a Vista PC and a W7 PC.

That or let my PS2 version collect dust.

Well, after you manage to get the game to even run then all it does is load a black screen with music. I know there's a fix for it (I saw something about it somewhere) but it was long after I'd lost interest in getting it to work.

Do they even release JRPGs on the PC?

I've never seen one - you'll find a lot of hardcore WRPGs though, although that's almost another genre to what you've asked for.
