I recently bought Oblivion for the PC. I'd played a bit of it on my 360, but I just can't stand it on there, y'know. The controller just doesn't work for me.
Anyway, this isn't a 'controller vs. keyboard' discussion.
One of the first things I noticed, as in the 360 version, was that the hairstyles, faces, and a few of the outfits, among other things, don't look good at all. So, do you guys have links of any good models or anything to enhance these things, and add new hairstyles and such?

Something to report?

Speak quickly, the legion horse can't sit still for long.

Yeah, use the link posted.
*Sits still for a few seconds, before stabbing the guard. The guard gets off his horse, then I jump on it and ride away*

God, I love this game. =P

Anyway, I'll do that. I just felt the need to make a stupid joke.

It took you that long to realise that a PC has superior graphics? meh, not really sure what you mean by 'post links to make it look better'.
Nah. I had just bought it for my 360. Most of my games these days are PC.
I mean, there are mods for nicer looking things all over the place. There's faces, jumps, weapons, bodies, hairsyles...y'know, the list goes on.

I thought the hair and faces looked like shit in the PC version of Oblivion. The hair especially. I appreciate the fact that it isn't easy to make hair look realistic in a game, but the hair in Oblivion looked like a solid metal sculpture bolted to the characters' heads.

If you can deal with the hassle, install FCOM, it makes the game x100 better.

Or if it's too much trouble, install OOO, it makes the game x10 better.

Edit: one thing you should install, is the unique landscapes mod. (Search it on tesnexus)It diversifies the landscape alot And makes pretty much all the places in oblivion more fun to just walk around and explore. It's also easy to install.

Hmmm... I started with Oblivion on 360, then went to PC, with PC offering a much better experience (HDR lighting, etc.) The only problem with modding it, is that there are so many mods out there that try to offer a better experience when in truth, all it does is make them worse. The only mods I use are tweaking mods, misc change ones & the official ones.

On the topic of making it look better, GameSpot did a thing which lists mods for making the world look better: http://au.gamespot.com/features/6148788/index.html

The faces really are shit. So I tried downloading some good-looking ones from the internet, and when I inserted them in my game, they looked nothing like the screenshots, but again like total shit. I don't think it's possible to not look retarded in this game. It's just not possible.

Basically it takes 4 different but conflicting massive overhaul mods and makes them work together. It completely revamps the leveling system, spawns, adds hundreds of new weapons. Hundreds of new creatures. New armor and textures, new quests, amazing new combat AI (Though for the best combat experience, you should install "deadly reflex"), new factions and faction interactions, and hundreds of interesting and immersive fixes and addons. (Whether it be adding animations when you open a crate or pick a flower, to creating a dynamic economy that changes as you sell Items, to to adding seaweed and fish to all the lakes.)

To be honest though, I wouldn't try installing it unless you're fairly experienced at installing mods. It doesn't come in a single file, and it even took me three or so days or annoyance and bug checking to make it work. It's worth it though.

Also, just because I installed it the other day and think it's pretty cool, search for the motion blur mod.

Here's another one for you; http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/

Not as great variety in mods as TesNexus, but there are some quality mods on there that you won't find on TN.

I can recommend Ren's beautypack and Ren's hairstyles if you want to improve your game. Also if you, like me, stink at the facegen process, I recommend Canoness's Character Creations II. Basically just a bunch of saved faces that look really great. Mostly female characters though, but there is 1 male face in there.

As for weapons; VagabondAngel has done some awesome classical medieval weapons(And some absolutely fantastic Katana's).

Armour I can't really say much about, since I tend to favour mage/Rogue characters in there(In those two cases, you should do a search on TN for Hgec. But these are mostly skimpy/alluring outfits that would hardly have any practical use whatsoever in real combat, and are more for eyecandy. You'll need the Hgec Eyecandy body mod aswell.)

Also look up Midas' Magic mod for some fun/cool spells to add to the game.

There's so much you can add to the game. Probably why I love this game so much.

Yeah, use the link posted.
I've fought Mudcrabs much fiercer than you!
Or something like that.

TESNexus is the ultimate place for Oblivion and Morrowind mods, do as they say and go there.

Besetheda really messed up the faces in Oblivion x3
You know this is such a problem for me it stops me from ever playing the game.

I'm not being a graphics snob either as I'll happily play Baldurs Gate 2 and other old rpgs.

It's the screw-on heads thing that really freaked me out in Oblivion. By that I mean the way the skin colour of the head was sometimes completely different to that of the torso. Also, the way that sometimes the change in voice tone of an NPC made it sound like they were taking hormone pills.

The clothing and model mods are usually bad and super slutty. Also men have almost none. Plus mods ruin games anyways.
