I've owned a copy of Oblivion for about 5 years and in that time I never used any mods, wanting to save them for after i beat the main storyline.

5 years later, Skyrim is about to come out and I still haven't beaten the main storyline (I'm a Hardcore altoloic). I figure now is a s good a time as any to get those mods...but I'm not sure which. any suggestions?

(Major Oblvion spoilers ahead)

Deadly Clutter [http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=3772]. I love that mod. You can pick up anything and use it as a weapon.

Even more if you download the extended update [http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=20606].

Well for starters, you NEED to get Oscuro's Oblivion Overhaul (OOO for short), and Martigen's Monster Mod (MMM for short). Both of them add TONNES of stuff to the game that make it almost a totally new experience.

Other than those two, it's really your discretion on what you get. Just go to the Elder Scrolls Nexus (by far the largest Elder Scrolls Modding community) and browse the thousands of mods to see what tickles your fancy.

Some of the mods will require script extenders or the Oblivion Mod Manager, but both of them are fairly easy to use and you can download them from the Nexus.

Me? I have my version of Oblivion modded up the arse, and I love it to bits. We have the occasional crash to desktop, but when it works, it's fantastic.

The two mods I can't stand to play without are the UI overhaul [http://planetelderscrolls.gamespy.com/View.php?view=oblivionmods.detail&id=162] mods and the Menu Escape [http://www.tesnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=10812] script. It allows you to answer Yes and close menus with just the spacebar or right click.
