Hey guys which is better? The good hero who saves the land only to see the happy smiles of the children. Or the villain who only saves the fair people of rpg-land so that he can personally steal, kill, and destroy them more thorough. I'm wanting to know which is more enjoyable to the masses, the good or the evil. Lets hear it guys.

This thread confuses me, if you're talking about Good vs Evil in RPGs there's another thread on the front page that you can contribute to.

This is how 99.9% of RPGs turn out for me: Start game. Do good deeds. Become good. Notices shops are expensive as hell. Steal a little. Lose good points. Buy good stuff. Realise I want better stuff. Kill a few people. Now I'm nutreul. Kill more, and more, and more. Evil as hell.

I would be a Hero and save the entire Land or more if I was capable of it. Though, personally I would be a Good person in an Evil aspect. Say, doing bad things in order to achieve good things.

Example: I would destroy a Popular Village's Government, yet would remake that land for the sake of the Orphans, the Poor, the Widows, and so forth.

Example: Kill all the Soldiers within a region and put the blame on a Group that would be very nice to get rid of for the sake of the people. See where I am going with this?
Second that, but not in a moronoic Final Fantasy X-esque logic like Seymour.

I like making my own threads. I enjoy reading peoples responses. I'm sorry if I broke some rule I am new to this so i have yet to learn.

No, no its oka. No worries man. Just, id ont know, search thread ideas in the search bar first. Otherwise, you may not get a lot of posts, or you may get a lot of people telling you its been made already. And mods may come after you for it, though you're new, so I think its oka as long as you understand.

Chaotic Neutral. Never know what the fuck I'm going to do. After saving megaton I went around and killed everybody for the caps. Sweet, sweet caps.

I like to mix it up a little. Depends on my mood and how irritating the current NPCs around me are.

Short answer: It depends.

Long answer: I usually play good the first time through. Why? Because (usually) the game makes me actually care about the characters and world (I'm looking at you Bioware) and being evil makes me cringe. I could just say "Oh, it's just a game, no need to get upset" but I usually get so immersed in any game with a (serious) moral choice system that I can't be evil. But I do force myself to be evil for some playthroughs, if only to play through the game differently and see what other endings and character developments there are. If the world isn't immersive enough (or has a console already in the game, ex: Fallout New Vegas) I don't get that same feeling of needing to save the world and tend to be evil.

Hey I just noticed that is a game is immersive, I play good; if it is not, I am evil...

But that's just me...

I am neither, for I am the dreaded antihero! The worst kind of hero/villain there is. We give villains a good name/heroes a bad name.
