FF9 is my favourite FF in the series, admittedly I may be somewhat clouded by nostalgia as it's the one I've not played in the longest because it is fooking impossible to find any sort of a copy anywhere, but I still love it.

I wish Tetra Master made sense though

I doubt he'll be able to find a copy of Metal Gear Solid 1.

Also the Disgaea series, the original Killzone, Hitman 2, Soul Calibur II, Shin Megami Tensei III, and SOCOM: US Navy Seals

Good point on MGS1, would have recommended Twin Snakes but he didn't mention a GC/Wii and I think he should play at least one of the two before hitting up MGS2.

I thought I was the only one that liked FF9...
I got my (new, sealed)copy of FF9 one year ago, but the website I got it from no longer has it.

i recomend the .hack g.u. series its your standard j-rpg hack and slash but it had a good story and the characters were enjoyable

There's a MGS pack out that includes all three games for the PS2 (MGS, MGS2, MGS3). There's also a GTA Pack with GTA3, GTA:Vice City, and GTA: San Andreas. Both are availible for $20-$30. Okami is a great PS2 game as well but can be difficult to find, the guys at Gamestop actually found me a new copy by calling around at the different stores in the area. Shadow of the Collossus is also a great PS2 game. Kingdom Hearts 1 and 2, also for PS2. Z.O.E 1&2 are decent. Oh, and if you like Strat-RPG's, Disgaea: Hour of Darkness is a must play (as is Disgaea 2, though i've never played that one). The Ratchet and Clank games (Ratchet and Clank, Going Commando, and Deadlocked).

So in summation, for the PS2:

Metal Gear Solid 3 Pack

Grand Theft Auto 3 Pack

Okami

Shadow of the Colossus

Disgaea 1&2

Kingdom Hearts 1&2

Ratchet and Clank 1, 2, & 3

Pretty much ALL can be found for under $30.

Oh and if you happen to like Final Fantasy, FF9/FF10 are good.

OH and Pyschonauts if you can find it, but you can get it for free on Gametap.
