Hey escapists, long time no see.
I have another problem!

My first xbox finally broke. It didn't exactly rrod it just has these white glitchy lines across the screen and my controller wont do anything.
Also there is a horrible jarring sound when I load it up.

Could you please suggest some good PC games (preferably downloadable from Steam) which will run on:

9600 GT Graphics card.
Intel Pentium4 3.4Ghz processor
2 GB RAM
HDD space not an issue.

Currently own for PC:
Bioshock
TF2
HL2
Far Cry 2
Empire: Total War
Gmod
Company of Heroes.
Left 4 Dead

Thanks :)

RIGHT. Not a lot of people know about this game, but trust me when I say it is AWESOME.
Search in Steam for SiN Episodes: Emergence. You'll be glad you did.

Petter processor and more RAM alike would require a new mobo.
For those 3 things I may as well wait a while a build a whole new PC when I have the money.

Also I have SR2 and Fallout 3 on xbox and have completed them fully. Same with COD4.
WoW is not my cup of MMO tea.
And yeah GTA4/Crysis would kill my machine.
Thanks anyway lol

I'm going to suggest the witcher: enhanced edition, as it has already eaten at least 50 hours of my life and i still have 1/3 the game to go.

Also, it's awesome.

Wow I didn't know they even made a 9600 AGP card... or that that P4 running on the LGA775 socket?

Only games from steam:

If you like RPG's then Mass Effect, I played trough that game twice and it doesn't really get boring at all. It's not totally an RPG but also quite the good shooter.

FPS like games: HL2 Episode 1 & 2, if you liked HL2 itself, and of course Portal. Mirror's Edge is sort off an FPS, but you have to run around a lot, I enjoyed it though. You could take a look at S.T.A.L.K.E.R., an adventure/FPS game with awesome gameplay and truly immersive atmosphere, a great game in my humble opinion.

Assassin's Creed was also highly entertaining, though you just missed a great offer last week.

If you liked Empire: Total War I can certainly recommend Medieval II Total war for an RTS. I loved this game. I played it for hours and hours, and personally (maybe because of the bugs in Empire) I like it more then Empire itself.

If you'd like some non Steam games, could you state what gametype you'd prefer? And which you just have to avoid?

Yeah, but a one-episode game that had other episodes cancelled.

The first SiN was good. The second was a pile of puke.

If you want a good FPS games, get Half Life Episodes and Portal.

Erm I have complete Mirrors edge on xbox, same with Ep 1 & 2 and portal (I was gifted HL2). Also with Assassin's. S.T.A.L.K.E.R I may purchase yeah...

As far as other games go, I'm open to most. I quite like the idea of having a flight sim as I have the joystick rearing to go.

I enjoy most FPSes even the generic ones (apart from Halo). Other than that I'm not too fussed. RPGs are good but I'm in the market for pretty recent games really.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R.
Deus Ex
Baldur's Gate
Fallout 1 & 2
The Longest Journey
Farcry
Dawn of War
Diablo 2

I could go on...

Let's agree to differ on this one. Anyway, I saw it in HMV for £3, and you can buy it's been reduced on Steam by 50%. And you get the first SiN and it's multiplayer too.

It's well worth a buy, for that price.

I have a PC very similar to yours. Better processor, but slightly inferior graphics card.

Currently, the notable games I have installed are:
Diablo 2
Supreme Commander
Guild Wars
Mass Effect
Morrowind
Oblivion
Puzzle Quest/PQ: Galactrix
Sacred/ Sacred 2 (Kick-ass Diablo clones with elderscrolls' open-ended exploration)
Witcher
Rainbow 6 Vegas 2
Titan Quest (Straight-up diablo clone)
Tron 2.0
Unreal Tournament 3

Oldschool games I've been putting time into:
Doom/II
No One Lives Forever/2
Thief Gold
Planescape: Torment
Max Payne

Each and every one of those I fully recommend you try. If you aren't much of an RPG player at all, there are some you can cut out obviously, but I still think they are great games.
