Anyone with a radio has obviously had to endure the horrid wasteland that is pop music

Sometimes though, a song gets through that works for us and makes us want to dance!

Personally, I think Usher has some good dance music (Don't look at me like that) Same with Moves Like Jagger

And I personally think dubstep is perfect dance party music; no lyrics to get in the way, just the beat! :D

So, what pop song(s) just make you want to dance?

I do like most sub-genres of Electronica (dubstep included, but it's that whiny little brother that tags along only because mother said so). I can't really dance but I'm down to make a fool of myself as long as other people are doing it with me. Anything with a driving beat makes you want to move somehow.

I know it's not pop but why not:

I'm the exact opposite; I can't dance when others are around

It's like my vanity deadlocks my legs

But I like this song:

Just for the pure energy it has!

Right now I'd go with M83 or Pheonix or Yelle. They're all French acts. Also check out Airys, who is Italian.

I find the pop/dance music put out by other countries to be a lot better than stuff that's popular in the U.S. It's not that there isn't good stuff, but I think the studio system in the U.S. is a lot better at controlling the charts and airwaves in a way that stifles diversity.

I cannot listen to skrillex. His music is just all wrong. When I say that I don't mean "my opinion is different, but it's the right one". I mean that he is messing up the technical areas. One of the songs by him I can listen to is:
I barely can listen to this because of some of the things he carried over into this song. He uses to many shrill sounds and sharp noises. Oh, and his filter knob must have a few layers of duct tape on it with how much he uses it.

I hate to be cliche but, his music could come from two cats fighting in a metal trashcan. Come to think of it, I've never actually seen him mix (using a physical set of decks and a mixer).

Also:

EDIT: sorry about the random skrillex rant, saw the background on the video and thought it was him.

I find it annoying most Dubstep now wants to be "like skrillex" seriously I feel like the guy could make good stuff if he wasnt so insistant on bashing us over the head with WUBWUBWUBSDFKDFHSDKFHSJKFHJKSHFJKSHFJHKFHWUBKFHDFJWUBLF<-thats his music in text form

I dont dubstep/electronic that follows the same boring old patterns....build up, bass drop, reapeat

I do like this though, even though its not pure electronic

If you want to encompass the whole dubstep/house/techno/hardstyle/etc. just use "Electronic(a)".

In a switch from dance music, I recommend Say Anything.

He probably could make some good stuff, if he turns down the filter, uses some cooler tones, learns what a bass drop really is (this could be true of most dubstep), and breaks from the normal formula.

My friend was going crazy when he heard that skrillex was going to do some tracks with korn, I haven't listened to them yet though.

If I didn't like you so much I think I would be screaming profanites and death threats..

but seriously I jsut find it odd...Dubstep is a relitivly new thing and has a VERY distinct sound...I just find it odd you could put it under the same umbrella as stuff from Daft Punk

I mean you never heard of Techno as a kid? since that seems to be the "go to" blanket term for people unfamiliar with such music

I think it gets me annyoed because I really like some electronic, and dont like it being lumped together with crap (not saying dubstep is crap but the bad outshines the good)

and I don't like to call "all" such music dance because even though thats true for the most part, some of it isnt ment for "dancing" and calling it "dance" makes it come across as shallow

Well, I was mostly raised in the 2000's, so...

I don't listen to a lot of music, so my range of it is limited at best

Chalk it up to ignorance, I guess

But now, my eyes are

so was I...I only learned about what dubstep was untill last year..but I (mistakenly) called anything with a dance beat techno..but then I hadnt actually heard any "good" electronic...and "electronic" can crossover with all kinds of types and grnres of music

so tell me..what is it your looking for exactly? only dance tracks or are you looking for good Electronica?

I wanted people's opinions on what was good pop music to dance to

I mean, you've heard pop, not ALL of it is fun/good dancing

Probably shouldn't have put the dubstep line, that was my fault

ah I see

well with "dace/dubstep" I guess people learned towards eletronica

but seriously you could dance to all kinds of things..it doesnt need to be popular/maintram to be danceable, and mainstram/pop is so lifeless and shallow at times

I don;t know how dancable any of this is (I know shit about dancing) but this is Electronic I like

[spoiler/]

[/spoiler]

plenty more where that came from, plus if your interested in more electronic/dance music you should chack out beatport.com...its an online store but its easy to browse all the music, they have it all in genrs so after listening to hem all for a while you can get a sense of how they differ

With a sound engineer backing her up, maybe. Her live stuff is kinda rough, to be honest.

Edit: But yes, I do kinda like the Katy Perry too.
