I'm sick of listening to the same punk bands day in and day out. I need to find some new ones. Does Anyone have any suggestions. To give you a idea of what I like my favourites are bands like The Offspring, Anti Flag, Rage Against The Machine, Rancid, The Ramones, and the Sex Pistols.

I'd say the New York Dolls in their original form is you like The Ramones and the Sex Pistols. Same time period, same start. Better sound, in my opinion.

The Flatliners are amazing for a more hardcore influenced punk. Their Create to Destroy album is one of my favorites.

Propagandi is great political punk.

And if you can stand a little ska, try Operation Ivy or The Suicide Machines. Op Ivy is an earlier incarnation of Rancid and Destruction by Definition by The Suicide Machines is another kickass album

I should hope you already like the Clash, they're essential. Other than that, I'd recommend some Fugazi or Dead Kennedys. Oh, and definitely early stuff like the Stooges and MC5.

Green Day: Rock Band is the only one that I can think of that focuses on 'Punk', if you can even call it tha-

Oh, we're not talking about that?

Would be nice if I knew what to recommend, as I used to enjoy this type of music... y'know, back when it was tolerable, as opposed to what could be commonly called 'modern-day pop-punk'. Of course, musical tastes change over time and this ends up in me rambling for entirely no reason, so I'll stop here before it goes any further.

And I don't care if I lose, but THPS4 was like, the last skateboarding game that actually had a good soundtrack.

Dude... You've got the Sex Pistols. You should be fine.

But, if you do absolutely need more, I'd say Dead Kennedys.

I didn't mind Undergrounds', except for the fact that the punk rock soundtrack was largely replaced with hip hop.

Mind you, the hip hop was good, but I digress... it was sad to see such a shift in sound.

Good point, but it was around Underground that the franchise started to take all kinds of wonky detours in all areas, including soundtrack.

Overall, Underground was the calm before the avalanche in the franchise...

Black Flag are pretty good - I know some people have recommended The Clash, but I never really cared for their "punk" stuff; their crowning moment was "London Calling", an album which was the furthest thing from punk possible....

If you haven't heard Dead Kennedys' "Fresh Fruit for Rotting Vegetables", you definitely need to get on that. Also check out NOFX - they're pretty inconsistent, but they have a large catalogue and I'm sure you'll find something you like.

And really, no Rise Against? I'm shocked - "The Sufferer and the Witness" and "Siren Song of the Counter Culture" are two of my favourite albums, you'd best go listen to them.

In addition to black flag you might also want to check out the misfits.

Hey look! It's the music snob coming to tell you they aren't punk!

Guess what! They're not punk bands!

Personally I like The Offspring... but that doesn't effect the fact they're not punk.

You want to find bands that have the message as well as the music? Get off the internet and start exploring your local scene.

Green Day's earlier work is pretty good. Not my kind of thing anymore, but it's pretty good.

Here are some good punk bands:

Crass
Conflict
Subhumans
Millions Of Dead Cops
Operation Ivy
Descendents
Adolescents
The Adicts
Defiance, Ohio (more of a recent folk/punk band)
G.B.H.
Zombie Vandals
Riff Raff
The infested
Choking victim
Leftover crack

Those are the only ones I can think of right off the top of my head. They might not fit your style, but I like 'em.

If I were to recommend punk, these are the 1st 3 that come to mind.

The Dead Kennedys

Suicidal Tendencies

Sloppy Seconds

These bands can actually be quite comical at times. Some of their songs are good for a little dark or morbid humor.

Enjoy.

Pop punk bands:

"Emocore" or 80's hardcore punk, anything with Ian McKay or Guy Piccioto is good. Check out their lyrics.
