Does anyone know what games like Devil May Cry or Jedi Academy exist on PC?

I tried to play Rune, it's pretty good, but not great. It can be an RPG or something like that, as long as the main point is melee. Best if controls involve keyboard + mouse.

Painkiller. Jedi Academy has enough long distance weapons to only maybe count as a melee game.

Any RPG I guess, it depends on how you play the game.

Painkiller is a shooter. In Jedi Academy, you have a lot of guns, but most of your skills and action involve the lightsaber. I mean, most of the enemies can deflect your bullets and they do it with an inhuman reflex.

Oblivion was pretty okay, but it was too slow. I'd rather play something faster, with more action. Something like Jade Empire... but with more melee weapons.

I'd pay anything for Ninja Gaiden on the PC...

The Lord of the Rings games were hack-and-slash. They're not horrible, either and can be got for cheap. I'd second Jade Empire; despite being an RPG it's fairly heavily focused on 3P action.

If you are innterested in any mythology, you should seriously try LOKI. It's split up into 4 sections: Nordic, Greek, Egyptian and Atzec mythology. It's such an awesome game.

Also for some reason nobody has mentioned Diablo 1/2 yet.

Tried, but I was lagging a lot. But I think my 9800 should now handle this game pretty well.

What's funny, despite the game having a pretty good reviews, it was put on a cover of a Polish magazine very fast...

Played, but the abyssmal resolution has put me off (I mean, no widescreen?). Same did repetitive gameplay.

I think I could also give Fable another go, as it wasn't a bad game.

Uuuh, Diablo II? Best Hack 'n Slash game of all time :D
You are mistaking hack and slashes with slashers. Slashers are TPP/FPP games with main focus on using melee weapons.

Loki and Diablo have a lot of magic and ranged weaponry.

If you think you can run Loki now, you really should. I love it to pieces. I thought it had bad reviews and low popularity though :/

Mount & Blade is a very good melee/slashy type game.

I suggest you download the game from http://www.taleworlds.com/ and see if it floats your boat.

You download the entire game, but your character is limited to level 7 in the free trial, at which point you can either start a new game or purchase a key.

There's plenty of free mods which add even more slashy weapons, update the graphics to near Oblivion levels, plus there are lots of different total conversions too, which makes it one of the most awesome and unique games available.

Seconded. Was recommended this by a friend and it is truly brilliant.

Probably the best game like this of all time. The combat was so well done that it's a shame that the multiplayer was terrible.

I'd really enjoy a second.

Well that's my two ideas already done. Both highly recommended. Much as I love Painkiller, it's still a shooter.
