Good song for a funeral

Assuming your family is religious, I always thought this would be a great funeral song

If your family is not religious, I always thought this would just be a badass song at my funeral (though now that I know the story behind it, I probably would not but you don't need to worry about that : ) Also, I don't know what Grandma would think...

Yes but if you are a Christian, wanting to get to heaven is the ultimate goal. It's less that he wants to die and more that he is happy that his friend gets to go to heaven. I don't know if you're a Christian but a funeral should be a celebration for the deceased and a time for the ones who are behind to mourn their loss.

There's really no way to explain it without sounding creepy so I'm just going to stop there before I convince a bunch of Christians to kill themselves...if there is a Christian in the house who can explain it better, have at it.

Very interesting. I'd read that the Church only proscribed suicide much later after having formed as adherents misunderstood some of the Church's message and often just thought, "dang, not having fun at the moment, think I'll go hang out with G-d" which, of course, the Church doesn't want people doing.
