Hi i'm new to the forums, well ive been lurching in the shadows for a while and finally decided to make an account.

So i was wondering if theres any good coop games on the xbox live marketplace (what ever microsoft decided to call it). I looking for something more like trine, some platforming and puzzling. and pretty casual gameplay.

-castle crashers: coop beat-em-up easily one of the greatest XBLA games
-Scott Pilgram vs the world: coop beat-em-up if you liked the comics/movie you might enjoy it
-castlevania: I wish I could remember the proper name, there is symphony of the night which is also a great title but the other castlevania is coop.

but the XBLA really shines in it's single player games

-Bastion: easily one of my favorite games ever
-Limbo: pretty good too, if a little pretentious
-Costume Quest: fun little RPG about Halloween, made by double fine

and that should last you a while, Minecraft should be coming out fairly soon as well.

EDIT: I nearly forgot to welcome you to the escapist, welcome

Symphony of the Night is indeed a great game available on XBox Arcade, the other Castlevania you're thinking of is simply Castlevania HD, which is indeed co-op up to 6 players with the protagonists from various Castlevania titles as the playable characters.

As my own suggestion for Flarty, another game worth looking into (in case you haven't played it yet...and if you haven't, shame on you :p) is Portal: Still Alive. A downloadable full version of the first Portal game.

The best arcade game out there you say?
I would recommend The Dishwasher: Vampire Smiles. This game is so damn awesome, it's one of my favorite games of all time, I keep going back to it all the time. I'd recommend just trying the demo to see what you think, I would have gladly payed much more than I did for the game.

Welcome to the Escapist forums!

There are two XBLA games I thoroughly enjoyed, these were Castle Crashers and OutLand

Castle Crashers is the game you'll want to play when you've got some friends over.

OutLand is a platformer with beautiful visuals, and some epic boss fights.

There's a new zombie apocalypse platformer coming out called Deadlight. Looks awesome.

Welcome to the Escapist community. Without getting onto my 360 and looking through the marketplace I couldn't recommend any puzzle/platformer arcade games to you that haven't been mentioned already. However, if you wanted to find some arcade games with fairly decent multiplayer then I might be able to recommend something.

If you are a fan of the old school turn based RPGs, parodies, or the Cthulhu mythos, try "Cthulhu Saves the World" a really fun old school RPG that also lovingly pokes fun at the genre and the Cthulhu mythos

You only get one chance to make a good first impression AND YOU'VE ALREADY FUCKED IT UP!

No, I kid, I kid.

Seriously though, Castle Crashers.

In which case, I will strongly recommend Small Arms and The FancyPants Adventures* to you. They are quite good, and have Co-Op. Also, you might wanna see this, as well: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VyggFQL-ghw

And, while it doesn't have Co-Op, I have found Zapper: One Wicked Cricket! to be a lot of fun. Same with the Geometry Wars games.

*It's labeled like it's the one and only on X-Box Live. But, it's actually World 3, as there were two other titles released prior as flash games, and the third one's got itself a smaller flash release.

Man, I am getting really sick of mixing up the "Quote" and "Edit" buttons. I'm not the only one who has a problem with this.

Castlevania: Symphony of the Night is a great game that I heartily recommend although it is for one player only.
