After years of Chrome working fine, I suddenly found that my laptop began to take a good 30 seconds to open Chrome, and then I found a lot of other people on the internet who suffered from the same issue. It was also suffering from extremely common Shockwave Flash crashes.
I tried many things that Google suggested and things that other users found helpful but nothing worked. Un-installing, re-installing, changing port settings... The list goes on.
Then, a Google employee suggested that Rapport could be the issue. Rapport for those of you who don't know is a program which helps to protect your connection between your computer and your bank whilst internet banking, not really needed, just an extra security measure.
And after un-installing Rapport however, Google Chrome flies along at everything again, much like it always has on my iMac. So, if you're having problems with your Chrome browser, check to see if you've got Rapport installed. There's something about Chrome 10 that it really doesn't like.
Mike.
