I love google. I use them for everything. I use google for mail, for searching, for maps, I have an android phone, I use latitude to know where friends and family are at all times, I use MyTracks for planning/recording motorcycle trips, I use google docs, google calendar, google voice (which is an AWESOME free service that uses google for your voicemail, which does a whole bunch of things, my favorite being it attempts to transcribe (voice to text) all your voicemails, then puts them in a very organized gmail-like box that you can paroose at your own leisure), and google chrome.
Google and I have an understanding... They create awesome stuff that I didn't even know I needed and give it to me for free, and I let them know more personal information about me than the the CIA will ever want to know about Kim Jong Il. The idea of this information gathering was comfortably intangible until I found google.com/history. Go there, it's awesome. If you're usually signed in when you google things, all your searches are remembered, and cataloged. They have top searches by month, year, day of the week, or hour of the day. I learned my most used site at almost any hour of the day is wikipedia, and at 2PM I have a tendency to search for europium thenoyltrifluoroacetonate, which, for the record, is just a temperature sensitive paint pigment, and not nearly as exciting as it sounds.
The craziest part is how they catagorize the whole thing. I look at my searches for books, and realize that my ex-girlfriend must have used my computer to look up vet-tech books 2 years ago..and the book covers come up. You could look at all your image or video searches, or every time you've EVER looked up directions, going back to April of 2007.
TL;DR? if you use a lot of google, go to http://www.google.com/history and get a seriously thorough history of everything you've done threw google since 2007. They also give you the choice to give them access to EVERYTHING you do on the internet, regardless of whether or not you're using google.
The only thing "stopping" google from Sandra Bullocking me is their unofficial motto of "Don't be evil"....That's comforting. Let us know if you find anything interesting!
