Are you doing it from google.com, or are you doing it from your personal google page? As far as I know, it only works from the main google.com, not from igoogle.

I don't have a personal google page and I was doing it from Internet explorer. I tried it using google chrome and (unsurprisingly) it worked.

I can categorically say that that's not true. I ran the search from my iGoogle page, and the Zerg promptly invaded my search results, as they were supposed to.

It must be something else, probably the browser.
