Gordon Freeman's age in HL2?

So in Half Life 1, I assume that Gordon was around 25ish as a recent college graduate from MIT, but after the Gman puts him in stasis "outside of harm's way" and time and space, does Gordon age? We know that Half Life 2 takes place about twenty years after the original, but since we never actually get to see him because of the first-person perspective, I don't know if we can be sure or not.

For aging:
- None of the characters in the game comment that Gordon looks freakishly younger than he should
- Some of the concept art and promotional materials for the game give him a bit more gray in his hair

Against aging:
- He still moves just as limber as he used to (in the beginning when he doesn't have the hazard suit, he is still as quick)
- The game characters aren't the most observant people, as none of them comment on the fact that Gordon has been missing for decades. They are surprised he showed up, but never say they assumed he was dead.
- The concept art is vague enough to give me doubts on whether Gordon was actually designed to be older.

Bonus question: If the Gman put Gordon in stasis, how do Barney and Dr. Kleiner have his crowbar and HEV suit? They seem pretty insistent these are the exact ones Gordon used during the incident. Also, if they found the suit and crowbar with no Gordon, wouldn't they assume he was dead?

in half life 1 he was 27 so i belief in half life 2 he was in his late 30's/early 40's

I think Barney was joking, as in one of the Episodes he says "I'm running out of these things" in reference to the crowbar.

I suppose fighting the Combine would be called "exercise", so it's not surprising he's looking trim and proper.

Yes they do, I distinctly remember it being commented on by Eli that Gordon doesn't look older.

I don't actually know, to be honest. I'd be inclined to say he doesn't age, because stasis freezes time. I wouldn't have thought he was 25 in the first game, though: he's clearly got a very advanced degree which would take a lot of work and research to get. I'd guess he's in his early-to-mid 30s in HL1, and the same in HL2 because of the stasis. The grey hairs are most likely because of the ridiculously stressful situations he's been through. It's remarkable how much stress can age you.

G-Man: "I took the liberty of relieving you of your weapons; most of them were government property".

I agree.
But that could just be politeness. A lot of people say that in real life.

Nah, IMO it's definitely a reference to the stasis.

Here's a funny thought: Gordon Freeman experiences the entire Half-Life series as one continuous adventure. No bathroom breaks!

I'm guessing he looks older in the art for Half-Life 2 more because of the development of the art style than because of time passing.

When he swims. Don't claim you have never done that.
Still, in his suit... :S

True, but between that comment and a similar comment from Kleiner saying he "hadn't changed one iota" it can be assumed that he didn't age at all while in stasis.

I think it'd be a little strange if Gordon had significantly aged since HL1. I mean, the whole thing with Alex would be a little weird if Gordon was old enough to be her dad.

Eli: "Gordon, you're 19 years older than my daughter, but I wanted to tell you that I couldn't be prouder of you if you were my own son, and now that the suppression field has been deactivated for good... heh heh heh..." *wink*

42 year old Gordon: "...."

I personally assumed that Gordon hadn't aged significantly while in stasis, and was anywhere from the mid 20's to very early 30's in age, whatever he was in HL1.
