I just came back from District 9 and while it was an amazing film, it was supposed to be extremely gory. I mean, lots of blood but not anything that bad.

What I'm looking for is an extremely gory movie that will actually get an emotional response from me. I'm just so desensitized to violence and while it may make me sound like a horrible person, I need something to quench my bloodthirst.

Here's kind of my range: Bloodier than Dead Alive. That movie barely affected me.

I know it sounds immature and disgusting, but I just want something like that.

Erm... The Wizard of Gore? XD

There are many Japanese films that seem designed to fit your tastes.

That said... nothing comes to mind at this very moment. Give me a while.

If Dead Alive isn't gory enough for you then nothing is. Maybe try Hostel or one of those other tourture movies.

Cannibal Holocaust. It's a very deep movie with an interesting message. Not to mention that it's so realistic that the director was brought to jail and forced to prove the actors were still alive.

So yeah, I think youtube or google video may have it. Check it out. Dare you to watch it to the end.

SAW Franchise, and Hostel films. Some lovely films were plot and gore were entwined to create some true masterpieces.

I hesitate to say Saw or Hostel because people who view these films explicitly for the gore are the reason that the legitimate qualities of these films are overlooked. That said, if you want to cringe, watch Hostel. I've watched a lot of horror films in my time, and Hostel is one of the few that can make me cringe. Don't go watch Saw, it's an excelent film, but the "torture" aspect of it is quite tastefully underplayed, and while you will come away having seen an excelent movie, you probably will not have spent a lot of time cringing, which it sounds like is precisely what you want.

And, if you're looking for something mindlessly stupid you could watch Frontiers, the cringe factor isn't quite on the level of Hostel, but it tries really damn hard. Also, you could probably find something plenty gory in any of the Masters of Horror short films. John Carpenter's "Cigarette Burns" is an excelent look at the nature of film, as well as plenty gory. Do note though that you ought to be careful with Masters of Horror, some of their films will make you cringe not so much because of the gore and more because of the undead titty bar.

Look no further, my friend, than John Carpenter's The Thing. It's almost 30 years old (damn, I'm old) and it is freaking awesome. The make up effects don't look dated at all.

I just saw a movie that might do the trick.

Repo! The genetic opera:
In a not too distant future, organ failure has become a world wide epidemic, and body organs have become a very valuable commodity. As a result, the repossession of human organs for payment has been legalized. Enter "the repoman" someone hired to extract these organs whenever someone cannot pay their debt. The dramatic twist?

It's a musical! "I know right?"

I found it to be trippy as hell, if not a little self indulgent. Definitely a cult classic kinda thing if your into it. "It's got its flaws, but it definitely has lots of gore and such. it WILL get a response out of you"

trailer iz here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xETgGym8cnE&feature=related

120 days of sodom is really intense.
it has everything from rape to torture and strong dehumanization.
its a really hard find though.

Maybe you will like Romero's new flick Survival of the Dead. [http://vids.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=vids.individual&videoid=61912877]
The name is slightly stupider than Ninja Assassin [http://ninja-assassin-movie.warnerbros.com/] but can't be all that bad.

What's the message? I've heard of being really gory but no real message.
