Before I get started, I just wanted to let everybody know that this is my first post/thread in this forum. I say this because of this thread(http://www.escapistmagazine.com/forums/read/18.197781-Poll-When-you-first-arrived?page=1). I will remind you of this fact 4 times During my following post.

OKAY OT: In my first thread in this forum, I have a request. Here's the thing: I'm the singer in a band and I'm supposed to come up with lyrics to all our songs. But I seem to have insufficient ideas for this endeavor so I decided to end my lurking of this forum and start posting. I hope that some of you have some ideas you would share with a first-timer.

To start this, here's the Chorus of a Song to which I need 2 verses.

(Because) I'm king for a Day
I can do whatever i want
And you have to play along
because I'm King and you are wrong.

Any Reply to this first post of mine would be greatly appreciated.

We(our bassplayer) call it funk, but that should have to much of an impact of the lyrics IMHO. everything funny/crazy/random/funny goes.

Needless to say I think you should not rely on my writing, but I will see if I can come up with something if I am not too tired.

Well, if you have something in particular to write about, then just brainstorm. That's what I do, and I've come up with decent lyrics, although they're pretty juvenile so far. If you don't have a good idea, don't force yourself, just wait inspiration to turn around and slap you in the face.

Heres a little ditty I just strung along, (although I have no idea what your music sounds like so I imagined some form of regga punk sound with it.)

And sorry, but I made it punk-rock and changed your chorus slightly.
Based more around my style, but meh.
I imagine it sung by Bad Religion for some reason too, listen to their song I Want to Conquer the World. That's the kind of tune I adopted.

we tried that, didn't go to well. we are german, but wanna use english is our lyrics. i i have to say, that my english is by far the best in our band...

I would help but all my lyrics are for power metal songs, the content usually involves fantasy worlds, war and victory. Nothing about kings.......yet.

Well i wont limit you there,but I think off-context drug-references, "planet" and"space" would be the keywords i'd be looking for in the lyrics.

Ohhhhhhhhh. I was gonna say, why pick someone who can't write lyrics for a lyricist? >3> This makes much more sense now.
