"Those who would give up a little liberty for a little security, deserve neither and will lose both." Benjamin Franklin.
You know i really would like to ask ben frank what he really meant by that quote or rather how he would go about backing up such a statement. If you had someone close to you, shot to death for no reason except some guys with guns were high. Wouldn't you give up your right to a gun and in return take away anyone else's right to a gun? And see the thing is, it makes perfect sense. Take away the guns and should it come to fisticuffs you know you can at least beat the living shit out of some dudes who can't even think coherently. Also police could be given more power to wield their weapons. Like the old police forces in UK, give them smack and they'd smack you the face. Hard.

I find that large, corrupt governments are overrated. We should go back to nomadic tribes!

Benjamin's quote fails because you know damn well that country's without assault rifles available to the public have less gun related deaths.

Ask me if want to be robbed by a guy who owns an assault rifles or who owns a knife. If things go tits-up and he wants to kill you anyway, you can run away from someone with a knife(they have to catch you first) you cannot outrun bullet.

Ben wouldn't say anything, Samuel Johnson said that. He was also attacking the conservative British government for their defense of a ridiculous war. And technically the quote is mangled, he said that those who hide behind nationalism to justify wars don't deserve security or justice.

Socialism is like super-strength democracy. Those people who're talking like it's a split choice between the two, or who're advocating a "compromise" between the two, are being ridiculous. Socialism depends upon democracy. The two are inexorably linked. Without democracy, it cannot correctly be called socialism.

Personally I think capitalism has run its course.

A nomadic, uncivilized culture (lack of written language) is ultimately the best for people and the Earth itself.

Otherwize, democracy.

Well, I must say, Communism was an absolutely beautiful idea, it's just impossible to put into practice.

I like Erana's answer too.

Communism is the best, but in reality it isn't

... Socialism is a strictly economic belief. There is no socialist legal system.

If you mean murders from capitalism, maybe. But that's a stretch.

I'm going with L.B. Jeffries; a king/queen system undoubtedly works best.
