As of 9:50 PST I am officially a High School Graduate (Online class, just submitted final.)I plan to spend the next 3-4 months doing absolutely nothing of value.

Do you younger Escapist-folk have any exciting plans for vacation?

Any amazing life advice from you older Escapist-folk?

PS: I lied about doing nothing of value. I'm flying out to Seattle for a week to visit my sister and go to PAX.

Most likely all of your friends will part ways with you, it happens to everybody after high school. My personal advice would be to sleep with your good friend's sister, he won't be your friend much longer, so it's cool.
yay...not depressing..

on the upside it tunrs out everything you thourght mattered..doesnt

Like your old friends! You'll make new ones you'll be lucky to keep at your (hopefully) four year university stay, which will be replaced with a whole new breed of friends once they move away from your alma mater.

I should be taking my GREs and preparing for grad school, but I just can't find the motivation to do anything right now.

Relax, play the hell out of any games, and enjoy. Once you start higher education or working, you won't have nearly as much time to faff about so enjoy it while you can. And if you get bored of that, get a job and earn some cash.

First off, unless it involves the formula of how to to something you can just forget it if you so desire. Not one thing you learned so far that is not is a conclusion rather than a way of leading you to conclusions is likely to be helpful.

Learn to cook, you can do this by randomly having the food network on show that teach cooking, or even the ones that don't if you can get an run with their inspiration. Knowing how to cook make you interesting because sadly few people can it also save you a massive amount of money and can get you date if you are good.

Please do not study you high school material, that is just fucking stupid. None it matters if you have been accepted to your university go ahead and just burn everything that relates to high school unless you for some reason want it.

You're supposed to make friends at university? .__.

All my friends at university I had beforehand -__-
You should consider yourself lucky, it seems most of my buddies from high school seem to be drifting apart.
OP, congratulations. I graduated in April(alternative learning program, no I am not a punk ass troublemaker) and I'm still trying to get into the military. "Vacation" will just be what I'm doing now, working and training.

Enjoy this time of your life. While it won't necessarily be the best depending on what happened before and what will come later, you're never going to have this much energy again. You're in the absolute prime of your youth. And it all goes by so, so fast, so don't dither too much of it away. Don't put off the stuff you want to do, don't put any dreams or ambitions on hold for too long. Don't spend too long in jobs you hate or in bad relationships. It's going to feel like you have all the time in the world to get everything you want to do done, and to see all the things you want to see, and to have all the experiences you want to have. You don't.

Also, for heavens sake, develop good nutritional/exercise habits now. Don't wait until your thirties or forties and your health is exploding. It's so, so much harder to repair bad habits later in life.

as someone who graduated 2 years ago my advice is to take your time working out what to do with your life. I did a year of college before I realized I was doing the wrong thing. I'm now at the end of the first year of my new course and really happy I realize I chose the wrong thing and changed.

Be prepared to be expected to be useful. I am still not useful, you know since I'm a student but people think you will be now.

I don't know what your interested in but if your not planning on doing it in the future, forget it. You really don't need it. If your not going to be a scientist or some sort of math guy, forget everything except the stuff you use on a daily basis

Congrats, you just finished the tutorial level of life.
Take the time and steal yourself before you have to dive headlong into the grown up world.

Also if they play this at the ceremony, please feel free to flip your shit and murder somebody.

My school thought it would awesome and cool to get a different song. We ended up with this:

Not exactly a vast improvement.
