Are you one and what is your definition of one?

I say its someone that only plays the one games people say is real big like Madden and Halo. Im not saying those game are not big, but those are mainly the only ones they play.

If your not a gramer give your definition of a gamer.

A gamer is someone who will try everything at least once, if they like it they will strive to be great in it.

There's all the answers there. Also, I think a gamer is someone who plays games.

A "gamer" is someone involved in video game culture, but if this thread is going to turn into a big circlejerk where everybody tries to come up with a new definition that places people like themselves above the rest of humanity somehow, I guess that works too.

I thought this would be an original thread, something to do with the high grammatical and spelling standards that most Escapists tend to hold.
Imagine my disappointment when I find out that's just a typo.

Anyway. A gamer is someone who plays games. No more, no less.

A Gramer or by it's scientific name Kelsus Grammer Maximus is a pretentious psychiatrist often found in and around talk show radio booths.

A gramer is a gamer called Graham.

That's right: a pun and a portmanteau in one. A PUN-tmanteau, if you will. Oh man, I'm on fire. Or something.

By your definition, I'm not a gamer, because I refuse to buy all consoles and play a large scope of games.

But, I don't like your definition, so therefore I believe that I am a gamer because I play games.

Love the show, and some of his few movies.

HOWEVER, I recently discovered he's a committed Republican :(

There is a spectrum here. An addict is someone who cannot live without games. A gamer is someone who likes to play games. A gramer is someone who plays Madden, Halo, Gears of War, and nothing else. I place myself somewhere between gamer and addict.

Alternatively.

¹a trait
²a noun, substitute for vocabulary
person A: I need to go vacuem the house theres dirt all over

person B:His vocabulary shows hints of gramer¹

person c: what lovely gramer you have²

I made a big long post that basically explained that to actually use the term "gramer" to actually describe a real person who plays any games is pretty rude, especially when it's spat with a sense of utter elitism.

But I figured it would fall on deaf ears, so I cut it down to just the above paragraph and this one following it.

Why no, I do not consider myself a Gramar, a gamer however, is someone involved in a form or practice of gaming. And that is me.
