I am quite excited for Gran Turismo, I did enjoy GT4 though regrettably I sold it. Though I always felt that I was playing the game wrong...
GT demands an expensive steering wheel, you can't play it right with a controller.
I near completed both GT2 and GT3 just using a dualshock. Had no problem getting all my licenses either.

I don't see how thats not playing it right?

Sounds like marketing crap to get people to buy steering wheels.

I've played racing games with a steering wheel and very briefly played GT3 on a friends steering wheel. Its cool.

But I still don't see how thats not playing it right?

Its a bit like playing a flight sim with a keyboard, you can tell yourself all day long "its ok", but it isn't.

In order to be properly immersed in the simulation, you got to get yourself the proper tools, you can play GT with a controller but all your essentially doing is getting stars for jumping through hoops... to be immersed is a different thing altogether.

Thats a fair point.

But GT compared to some PC race sims is still a fun experience without a wheel. One of the reasons I love the series

I agree, its good fun.

But all the more better with a wheel, you kinda just play it to get into the experience with a good wheel, as opposed to grinding for the next tune up.

Its probably the same reason why I dislike football games, because I haven't got a ball to actually kick about when FIFA 10 is on.

Same here (GT3 and GT4 for me), and I've gotten much better since then. I hear wheels tend to slow you down by making you more aware of the car's behavior.

I think that theory may be right. There won't be many people spending their money on GT when there's God Of War and Heavy Rain. Actually, I don't care about Heavy Rain, but it is looking fairly good...

EDIT: Whoops, I posted my reply to a similar GT5 related topic in the wrong section.

gee this will gimme time to replace my ps3 bluray drive again , i hope they don't screw up the game by adding useless cars and damage mods ...

i hope it will be worth the wait , because i'm bored with prologue
They're claiming 950 cars. I bet most of those will be useless.
Yea it's really weird and useless what they're doing. GT4 had about 400 cars and most of them were crap ( alot of them were the same car , but with other types of engine ) . At the beginning of the game you could buy a good second hand car , finish certain rally events that gave you some of the best cars in the game that you could use or sell for a shitload of credits.
Maybe it's fun to have lots of cars in multiplayer , but I doubt anyone wants to race his friends using a Nissan Cube.

By the time this comes out Forza 4 will be released,
That would mean that THREE Forza games came out in this dev cycle...

o_O

But I can see it happening, despite your joke.
