As opposed to being halted by never being bloody finished?

Well, not being Italian or having even heard of the Consortium for the protection of whatever, I can't really see the significance. Given that they're not apparently doing anything particularly offensive with the location like for example, riding around on go karts slaughtering newborn lambs (or disabled war vets, if you really want to go for it), I'm having trouble seeing the issue.

Personally, I think Sony should just tell them where to stick it. By that I mean, just release the game anyway and let the Consortium writhe in their own discomfort.

You know I do believe that the Roman Colosseum is on another track on this game, whats gonna happen with that?
I imagine you don't need permission to use that, or if you do, Sony have it.

OT: This may all seem like flap and nonsense, but I think it's pretty rude of Sony to use the flags when, if I understand the article correctly, they'd been outright told they didn't have permission to do so.

Some people take such things too seriously. I guess Sony could just get the flags removed. Or they could be very annoying and remove Ferrari from the game as well as punishment.
This is a classic case of deformation professionnelle [http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/D%C3%A9formation_professionnelle]. Sometimes people just can't see beyond their little self-important role at the head of some insignificant group.

For some reason I started imagining Sony responding with a Kevin Buttler/Old Spice-esque commercial going "Dude, Italy, what happened? You used to be cool." and go on about their adventures together;

"Remember when we went water-skiing the Bahamas, and Cambodia was totally checking you out with Greece next to her, and you went all smooth like and hit up? Yeah, man, that was a crazy night! Swan dive [http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uLTIowBF0kE] into the days of old!"

My brain is weird...

Oh come on, why do groups like this even care so much about this sort of thing? It hardly affects them in any way, does it, and it's not as if that particular flag (or in the Resistance: FoM example, the Church of England) are all copyright?

As a gamer, and aspiring level designer, I love playing in locations that are based on real world places, ideally when as much effort as possible has gone into making the locations as close as possible to the real-world versions (maybe that's why I enjoyed the Alone In The Dark remake so much, given the effort they went to in making a realistic and accurate Central Park...?).

It would be even more hilarious if it got delayed. I think GT fans would look for GT6.

Maybe if they add a horse racing feature it will all be ok.
Or they could just remove the flags. Easy fix.

The bottom line is its all about money. And their flags of districts, not of companies or anything privately owned right? So that would make them the peoples flags? Their flags are not being defaced, and are respectively placed around the race track enhancing the realistic atmosphere. Heck use the same colours as their flags, and change the emblems. Or remove them, dull the atmosphere of the event, at the loss to Palio. Or you could just remove the entire track, and make a new Go Cart location in another country they got 3 months. I'm sure the Dev team, can make 1 track in 3 months.HaHa I just watched that clip and thought "hey wouldn't it be cool to go their." Then I thought I may have to pay them a dollar for every photo I take..
