Gran Turismo 5 Sells 5.5 Million

So much for all the naysayers who thought that GT5's "poor" reviews (averaging at around 84%, which isn't exactly shite) would turn it into a failure...

Well, considering we waited about 5 years for that game to come out, the prestige of the Gran Turismo name and all the hype because of those things, I'd say the naysayers aren't completely wrong. It's not the success many people thought it would be or that it maybe promised to be.

While the numbers might be slightly inflated, that's still a very impressive effort. Especially considering that Mass Effect 2, a game that is already starting to get GOTY awards, only sold 2.5 million.
Would that make it the highest selling PS3 exclusive?

GT5 has shipped 5.5 million copies but sold more like 3 million.
Sony always state shipped data and not sales data but people being as they are misinterpret the two.
