The actual best thing since sliced bread, ladies and gentlemen. I can hardly believe it.

When I look at what Rockstar tries to do every time they make a game, I can't help but wonder how could anyone spend $60 on the same old modern military crap every year when games like GTA show you what video games could become. And all we need to do to make the same old crap disappear is stop buying that same old crap and get the new thing on the block instead. Developers will have to try harder to earn our money, and publishers will have to let them.

At first as was thinking "I don't care". Then I realized it was GTA online... I FUCKING NEED IT! But I just don't get why Rockstar stopped developing for PC, it's simply upsetting. I wish they're thinking about it though...

Why did I watch that? I shouldn't have watched that...It was a very bad idea for me to have watched that....
Same here, I'm gonna have a freakin anxiety attack.

This is basically an online pass. No, really, let me explain.

Free copies of this are only being included when the game is bought new. I'm assuming if you buy used, you have to purchase it separately. Since this is going to essentially be GTA V's multiplayer, those who buy used but don't want to shell out the extra bucks for Online will be barred from multiplayer. Well played, Rock Star. Well played. Looks like rebranding of the online pass to me.

Not sure of how I feel about the ridiculously strong push towards it being something other than GTAV Multiplayer; the fact that it's only going to come free with retail copies etc. but I do very much like the look of it as a multiplayer mode. And a content creator? I am always RIDICULOUSLY in favour of anything of the sort, so massive props to Rockstar for that. Going to be good, I think.

If you get the PS3 version it's all on one disc. And I doubt Rockstar would hop on the online pass wagon.

Yeah, this makes GTA IV look outdated by a longshot. I thought the same thing about call of duty black ops 2 when call of duty ghosts multiplayer was revealed the other day.
Also what's this thing about the multiplayer being an online pass? Did they say that in the video or am I my missing some information online somewhere?

Seriously, I'm suspecting that Rockstar is just screwing with its PC fanbase. Otherwise though, the online mode could be a real blast to play. Of course, I generally don't care about GTA, but I'm always up for guns, explosions, and jet ski races.
I just hope there's an MMO mod like there is for San Andreas if this comes to PC.

GTA online doesn't actually come out until a couple of weeks after GTA V launches, so it's going to be a "free download" ... to anybody who bought a new copy I'm sure. So yea, it's like an online pass. I don't know how much it will cost to download separately but it will probably be more than $10; that said, it's supposed to have it's own story missions and everything. So they're probably going to sell it as a separate game on the pstore and xbl or as an "episodes" like expansion, and those were $20. I really do hate online pass but if this game (meaning GTA V itself) has the value of GTA San Andreas, I'll allow it. I don't usually get excited about the "online parts" added to games but this looks really good.

I'm hearing all sorts of other weird features too, like watching live police pursuits on tv in your pad that are going on in your online game. You can yell in your mic during a heist to get they guy to stuff the bag quicker. And things that sound a little annoying too; you have to deposit your money in the bank or other players can mug you; and it's up to the guy who got the money (in a heist) to distribute it all. They sound funny but there's going to be a lot of greifers out there.

I'm very cautious about this one. It looks like the kind of game that demands unrestricted, open word pvp. Which means so much for all that "content".

Get a crew together to pull a heist, but never get there because you get caught in never ending firefight with every single player on the way.

Try a street race, but never finish because of the dozens of gankers firing rockets into every car they see.

Go skydiving, and get gunned down in mid-air by every player who can see you up there.
Dude, it's not an MMO-style online (is it?), as far as I understand, you invite people you want and play with them.

OT: The game looks fantastic, I'm just waiting for them to announce the PC release date. Hate Rockstar's whole "PC gets to wait 6+ months to get a shitty port" thing they've been doing lately, but fuck it, I'll wait, it's one of my favourite franchises (and while I have a PS3, I'm gonna wait for the PC version as console shooting just isn't my thing). Would love to get my friend into online and wreak some havoc.

I always though that a GTA5 online with dropping online players into the world you play would be a cool idea. though this seems very limited with 16 players :( even SAMP can run a 300 players cities, though only few servers managed to get them roganized enough not to turn into a massive gankfest. but they did, and people do comprehend how to play, while having over 200 players online, at the same time, in the same map.
Still, as long as we can mod out the 16 player limit... oh wait... this is rockstar.... no modding then or they wil lget suied for mods again....

GTA4 looked otudated when it came out. Seriously, for the amount of resources it wanted of you, it had TERRIBLE graphics.

It's just that APB's louysy rep means folk either don't hear about it or agree with the knee-jerk reaction that the game is utter shite. Which is isn't.

granted i played it last time last year (havent they closed down, i remember reading something like that), but it severely lacked content. i mean, within 2 hours i did the same mission 5 times. i saw like 4 different missions rotating randomly and thats it. it can get boring real fast and it did.
