Wholeheartedly agreed. However, one should also note that she probably won't give this baby away for adoption like she did before, if that's at all a silver lining (sorry, I tried).

Is it terrible that I'm equally upset at the amount of money being spent to use Phil's sperm rather than adopting someone who actually needs a home, rather than creating new life on an already overcrowded planet?

Well, it certainly does invoke a feeling of revulsion. But... *struggles to keep an open mind* I guess... well, as long as they have a DONOR egg and a SURROGATE, there shouldn't be any genetic problems. However, what about that kid's family life? His or her mom/great grandmother (O.O) is going to die soon, and they'll be a guaranteed half-orphan for the rest of their life. That's not happy. Plus, they'll get mercilessly ridiculed for their parents' relationship. Mercilessly.

The practical problem with incest nowadays is genetic complications. They've sidestepped that. The real problem is the social stigma. No, that's too mellow...the social disgrace, the social humiliation....

As a rational being, I don't really see a problem here. As a person, I wince and make "ehhhhcckk" noises.

It's positively Squicktastic! (thanks, TV Tropes)

Just on the side of open mindedness:

As long as all parties can and do give their legal consent, it's none of our goddamn business to judge what they do in the privacy of their own homes.

Also, the grandmother is post-menopausal, there are none of her eggs left to fertilize, so the kid's biological mother will be the egg donor, and thus the child itself will not be a product of incest.

On the side of worrying about that child:

Open-mindedness is nice, but it's hard to imagine a situation in which a child would get MORE teasing, bullying and general harassment, not only from children his or her age, but from adults who share the views prevalent on this site, not to mention heavily religious people. This child will be walking blasphemy.

I also agree with the assessment that 100 is a rare age to live to, especially without incapacitating conditions, and the father will either become a widower single parent or the custodian of two people incapable of supporting themselves.

I'm not entirely certain they have thought through these consequences to their actions.

No its not wrong. I think its ridiculous at the amount of kids people are having these days. My own father was adopted and his adoptive mother loved him possibly the most of her 7 other children. Even though I hate my father he was given a great life by adoption

Couples who are ready to have kids should be having at most one child then adopting if they want a bigger family. Adopting kids from their own country none of this stealing african babies malarky that celebrities very much like to get up to.

It's truly democratic society when you can do something like this. This definitely democracy; democracy and freedom at full power.

My God, what a tragedy, what a terrible perversion of nature! I mean, Pimppeter 2 changed his avatar! What is this world coming to?

On Topic: All I can think of is their kid's future. I can't imagine what it would be like.

If a grandma and grandson wanna sit around and fuck each other- whatever. I have no part in that. They should not be having kids though. Think of the life that kid will have being raised by people in that sort of mindset.

It's weird. But if they both genuinly want it... I see no reason why it's wrong as such. Just an increased chance of negative genetic traits occuring in the baby that's all and the fact his partner will die and he'll be alone for a very long time.

Just praticality that gets in the way of this sort of stuff happening alot.

It's just ashame that the child will be mother-less at about 10 years or so, depends how much mileage the Grandmother has left. I don't mean to be blunt, but it's true.

What inbred rednecks. This has to be one of the most disgusting things I have ever heard of.

It's like a bad erotica novel gone wrong.

I mean, it's like one of the only issues that science and religion agree on. And by agree on I mean they both go: EEEEEEEEEEEEWWWWWWWWWW!!!!!

Are you kidding? That poor little bastard will make Oedipus' kids look like lucky tykes. At least they were born into money!
