So, my grandma makes a delicious marble cake. The reason it is so delicious is because she has so much experience baking. (My great grandpa was a chef in WW1) Having seen other grandmas in action, I am aware that some are marvelous cooks/bakers, and I want to know, what is your grandma's/grandpa's GREATEST dish?

Bean soup*actually all kinds of soups*,and cabbage rolls, and i guess what italians call polenta.

To the ones that had grandparents but they never fed them (that sounds wrong but whatever): You missed out on the best meals of your lives, nothing beats homemade.

My Grandmother makes really delicious fudge. I've now learned how to make it, and I'm so happy that she taught me.

... Nothing, really but I'm a very picky eater...

My family has a special family-specific recipe for Brisket though. We make it differently so it's more like steak but it's even more delicious, also we make our own hot sauce to add to the flavor. I forget which side of my family it came from but it's amazing.

My grandma made amazing buffalo wings. She showed me her recipe for the secret sauce, and she showed me how to make it.
And now I am a god.

My grandma is deeeeead.

well, one of them. The other doesn't bake anything, really.

So It's up to me to cook delicious food (and speaking of me cooking delicious food, why not look at my food reviews in the review section? *nudge nudge* [/shameless plugging]).

EDIT: Come on, there's a flapjack review now. And I did fried mozzarella in breadcrumbs before! It's delicious! go on!

on my dad's side my grandma makes some of the best damn fried chicken EVER. On my mom's side it's a tie between what she calls Chocolate delight or Red Velvet Cake.

Dont get me started. My grandmother is 100% Italian so she dominates the kitchen! Single greatest cook ever!

Specialties include:
homemade noodles
homemade sauce
Grandfather grows everything in his garden
Pies:chocolate cream, lemon meringue, chocolate mousse, banana cream, etc.
Cookies(all kinds)
pizzelles
too many opthers to count!

She is awesome and I love her!

p.s. Italians eat salad last and a family dinner is a 5 course 4 hour long sit-down extravaganza...

My grandma on my mom's side didn't like me or my brother so she never baked for us and my grandma on my dad's side was a terrible cook.

*sigh*

Unfortunately, neither of my grandmas could cook worth a damn, even when they were alive. To make matters worse, my grandmother taught my mother how to cook, which means my mothers cooking is terrible as well. I cringe whenever I hear the term "homemade" in regard to food, because it makes me think of soggy chicken, undercooked vegetables and overcooked pasta. Thank Christ my father taught me how to cook after my mother moved out. All those years he never once told us he could cook; turned out he was quite good at it.

Well, my Grandmother makes an awesome banana cake with lemon icing. It's soooo good. Excuse me while I travel 800 km to get me some of that banana cake.

I'm half Chicana, so my Grandmother on that side makes the world's greatest homemade tortillas and tacos. Though I haven't even spoken to her since we left when I was sick, so I barely remember her food.
On my mixed European side, we have a secret family recipe for this homemade bread roll that is Ah-mazing. And at every holiday my Aunts and Uncles try to see who can make the best batch. It's usually my Dad who wins.

I hear my grandpa was an amazing cook, but I never even knew him. My other grandpa... I think he cooked well, but I don't remmeber because last time he cooked for me was a long time ago and he just passed away so I won't know about that... I didn't know one of my grandmother's either and my other grandma has crazy dementia. I remember not liking her carrot salad but that's about all. Sorry!
