Can you guys recommend me some graphic novels? There are so many, and they're quite expensive, so I was just wondering what your favourite ones are and what you'd recommend?

So far, I've read:

V for Vendetta
The Watchmen
Kick-Ass
Batman Year One
Batman The Killing Joke
Batman Arkham Asylum: A Serious House on Serious Earth
Marvel Civil War

I want to read some of the Deadpool ones, but I have no idea which.

Bone. Simply the greatest fantasy comic I have read. You can buy the complete black and white saga in one volume or each book in color.

Try the Preacher series by Garth Ennis, it's got some really dark humour, deep religious tones and enough violence to satsify any Tarintino fan. Very good.

Also The Walking Dead, haven't read any myself but a friend says they're good.

Actually that's a good shout. I love the film so it's about time I read the graphic novel...

Fallout New Vegas. There is a special graphic novel you need to read. It explains that whole Chance thing.

The Scott Pilgrim series by Bryan Lee O'malley is one of my all time favorites.
Definitely, I've just started reading them, finished the 1st book just the other day (took me a day + 1/4) and I'm more than halfway through the 2nd. The Scott Pilgrim books are the probably the best things I have ever read (just beating Darren Shan's novels)

Skydoll is actually pretty cool too in my opinion. It's not done yet but the story is pretty interesting so far :).

If you're at all interested in mainstream superhero stuff, there are some really good TPBs like the one for Identity Crisis or Blackest Night. Those were both really awesome.

Vertigo series are a must; Preacher, Y the Last Man, The Sandman, Alan Moore's Swamp Thing, Hellblazer, Shade the Changing Man, Scalped, Transmetropolitan, Fables ect. You really can't go wrong with Vertigo.

In terms of Superhero comics All Star Superman, Kingdom Come, Superman: Red Son, Wolverien: Old Man Logan, The Dark Knight Returns, Grant Morrison's Batman & Robin, 52, Identity Crisis, Whatever Happened to the Man of Tomorrow?, Runaways, Ultimate Spiderman (up until the crap fest that was Ultimatum), The Ultimates, Invincible and Brian Michael Bendis's Daredevil.

...And then everything else; The League of Extraudinary Gentlemen, The Walking Dead, The Essex County trilogy, Scott Pilgrim vs the World ect.

Give me more time and I'll come back with more. Big comic book nerd here.

I absolutely loved Ronin. Its Frank Miller but seems to mentioned least often in these threads and its easilly my favorite.

You could also check out Grant Morrisons "The Invisibles" or "The Filth"

Some crazy stuff going on in those. Great Characters.

DC's Kingdom Come. Also I'll go on a limb and say Superman: Red Son as well as Superman: Last Son. Anyone who scoffs at the Man of Steel as a character can read those three and understand that just because you can drop a nuke on the guy and he doesn't bleed doesn't mean you can't hurt him. and there are SOME things he can't just Superman his way out of.

Nextwave: Agents of H.A.T.E. is worth it too. If you enjoyed Deadpool, Nextwave is sort of in that vein, except more cynicism and more coherency. I could say it's Marvel poking fun at itself, but that really doesn't do it any justice or explanation. You really have to read it to understand. Just be warned: after reading it is likely that when you are particularly mentally or physically exhausted you will likely have a tendency to state that your robot brain needs beer.

This isn't exactly the kind of suggestion that you're looking for, but if you find comics too expensive I'd recommend looking at the comixology [https://comics.comixology.com/#] site. There are a bunch of great comics available on there for cheaper than you'd buy in print.

Also, some recommendations of recent good books:

Chew
Sweet Tooth
Unknown Soldier
American Vampire
