in my sweet little laptop i have an intel 4500 m hd graphics card. i just tried to download/play the bioshock demo via steam, and it wouldnt start. i would love to have a few games on this thing, but im not going to shell out loads of money for a graphics card, considering im broke.

so my question is: is my graphics card going to play anything?

btw, this is my laptop: 320 gb hard drive 3 gb ram intel t4300 dual core processor, hp brand.

thank you for any help

umm... i have no idea. thats why i need help? where would i find this on a best buy page?[/quote]
I'm currently trying to find out the specs, or a reason as to why it wouldn't run. It could be that it won't run without Nvidia? I've always had an Nvidia card on this computer and never had any compatibility issues with it. Mty old one had a Radeon and i had alot of issues with it, so that might be why.

Do you need to download new drivers for your graphics card? If you just got the computer, it might not have the newest ones loaded.

The 4500, like other integrated video processors, isn't designed for gaming. You can get some older, less-demanding games to run on it, but games like Bioshock are way beyond its capabilities.

Oh, the 4500 is an integrated? I suppose I should have looked that up before replying.

OT: If this is the case, I'm afraid you're out of luck, Atom. However, graphics cards usually don't cost too much. I picked up a pretty good one for under $100 a year ago.

Bioshock's not even that demanding when compared with Crysis or even FarCry II.
I thought he might be able to run it on low settings, but I figured that would be it. I still haven't gotten round to checking the specs, but I thought it might be because it wasn't an Nvidia card also.
