I did a full system restore of my computer yesterday, and when I started to play games today I noticed that my FPS was pretty low. I did a benchmark test in 3Dmark Vantage on performance level, and got a score of ony about 8000. I have the GTX 280 OCE by BFG, and know that when reviewed it had a score of about 9500. I tried all the different drivers, and the results are the same. Are there any suggestions in what may have happened? Since escapist is so full of PC gamers I thought it would be a good place to turn.

I double checked rivatuner, and everything is set to preformance 3D settings. I dished out a lot of cash for this card, and if anyone could help me out it would be greatly appreciated.

Did you frog-blast the ventcore?

Make sure you set your computer back to high-preformance mode, not just your video driver. Make sure you have all your games set back the way they were too - double checl resolution too. I've found out the hard way that choosing the wrong resolution can easily be overlooked in a rush, and the wrong resolution causes more display issues then actual graphics settings can.

What are your full system specs? It's possible that there's a power or overheating issue, or a bottleneck outside the card.

Sir, you are my savior, It turns out that I was on power fucking savor system style (I have a big beefy strong desktop that will use as much electricity s it sees fit!) I switched it over to High Performance, and now the benchmark score is a good 1500 OVER NINE THOUSAAAAAAAND!!! I salute you sir. Can't believe I overlooked something as stupid as that tho... Thanks everyone!
