Hi everyone,

I've just bought a Vita pretty much to play Gravity Dash. Of course, there are a few other games I'm eyeing up, and there will be games in the future, but this is the one to really persuade me to take the dive.

I've played the demo and I love it already. The touch screen and sensors seem to be used logically and naturally, as if the game were built around the system, taking advantage of the Vita's features rather than shoehorning them in there (unlike, say Uncharted Vita, where the touch screen is unresponsive and gets in the way).

The overall feel is very much like a Ghibli film, with the soundtrack particularly reminding me of Kiki's Delivery Service. And it's a bonus that this is a new IP with a fairly original concept.

So, question is, am I the only one looking forward to this? Anyone else played the demo, and what do they think? It's not out in the UK until next week, but I'm not sure, it may be out in the US already.

On a side note, I'm pretty pleased with the Vita. Only drawbacks are having the buy the memory separately, but the 4gb card is enough to download 3+ demos and store all the saved data, so it's good enough for me. Also, I don't like how some sections force you to use touch screen instead of having the option to use the d-pad/ analog on menus.

Only game I have is Everybodys Golf, but that should keep me busy for a week methinks.

Now, lets end this on a beautiful note:

Accept when I've done that in the past, no one responds. For instance, I recently set up a thread about Gravity Rush. Look how many responses I got:

i.e. Zero.
Well this is partly due to the obscurity, party to do with your framing and partly to do with the lack of information on said game.

I mean, I have absolutely no idea what genre this game is - never mind any finer details. It seems to be animie styled going by the still on the youtube video and references to Ghibli? If you want to promote discussion on an obscure game we need more details and talking points.

Sorry. I didn't think that writing 'vita' on my second line wasn't a good enough clue.

In any case, this isn't an 'introducing' thread like the one you're referring to. I'm asking fellow Vita owners about this. Secondly, this isn't an obscure game either, as it hasn't been released yet, and it's on a current gen console, not one from the 90's.

Demo was fantastic.

The music was awesome, too.

When's the release date? I needs it!

(Also, is it still going to have a japanese dub with subtitles?)

I don't know about Europe, but it comes out on the 12th in the US(can't wait for this Tuesday :D)

I've had this game on pre-order for ages now, and it was one of the games that got me to buy a Vita. I'm even more excited for Tuesday to roll around because both Lollipop Chainsaw AND Gravity Rush come out.^^

I played the demo and it was absolutely fantastic. I think I had more fun toying with gravity than I did anything else, though. The demo showcased it as an action game, but from what I've read about it, it actually has some rpg elements and a very large open world. Definitely looking forward to this and when it comes out, people may not see me for a few days.

The game has minimal voice acting, and NONE of it is in Japanese or English. They basically made up their own language for the game, so gibberish pretty much. It sounds a lot like a mix of French and Japanese when you hear it. Other than that, all the dialogue is done through the comic panels with speech bubbles and what not.

I got the game on Tuesday, a week early thanks to my EB getting copies before release date luckily. I absolutely adore this game, the scope and beauty of the world is breathtaking, especially considering this is a portable game. Charming visuals, great detail, amazing music, and charming characters.

It has RPG elements as in you collect gems (your XP) through completing challenges and throughout the city, and pump those into abilities that can be upgraded. Stuff like making you gravity meter last longer, more health, more damage on attacks ect... It's mostly an action adventure game that the developer said was inspired a lot by Crackdown. Still find it hard to believe the guy who made Silent Hill made this, though he's had this game in his head for over a decade.

Oh and the game isn't actually "anime" either, it's actually heavily inspired by French-Belgian comics. e kind of avoided making it too "anime" looking so to make it more appealing to the west I guess.

I beat last night actually, and the only major complaint I have is the ending. The game kind of ends abruptly, leaving many questions yet to be answered. Sequel bait pretty much, though it was sort of hinted at given the creator said he wanted to make another Gravity Rush game. If anything, the entire game/story does a good job establishing things, and setting the stage for future events where we will get answers. A good origin story if you will. So now I am anxiously awaiting Gravity Rush 2!! (Keiichiro Toyama did say if given the choice between making a new game or a sequel for his next project, he's do a sequel YAY!!)

It is nice that after you beat the game, you can save and just continue to wander about the world to complete challenges and DLC and what not. It's pretty fun just to wander around for a good hour taking in the sights, and the challenges are all pretty fun.

This is my favorite track of them all, love the instrumental version, so damn catchy.

This game has one of the best sound tracks in recent memory. One of the best sound tracks this generation for me.

That's the format/platform it's on, this was established as you said but not much more was.

This was a much more informative post, thanks. I hope the OP can pick up some tips. The game sounds interesting, I've not seen many appealing Vita titles and this could be a deal-maker for some.

The release date in the UK is this coming Friday (15th).

Indeed, I've just bought a Vita in preparation for this game and I've not regret buying it so far. Playing on Everybody's Golf for the time being (a surprisingly very addictive game), and there's about 20 demos for most of the latest and biggest games on the system.

I've had my eye on a few games. Unit 13(which I got, and have fun playing), Uncharted(which was fun, but once I beat it I was meh), Lumines was always fun. I'm looking forward Persona 4: The Golden, Gravity Rush and the Monster Hunter game they're inevitably going to release for the Vita. I'm also looking forward to the Final Fantasy X remaster. I heard that some games purchased and downloaded on the PlayStation Store, on the PS3, can still be downloaded on the Vita for no additional cost. If so, I can buy the FFX Remaster on me PS3 and download it for the Vita, so I get it for both! :D

Also, Gravity Rush has English voice acting. At least, the demo that my GameStop does.

Little bit of a tangent here, but if you are waiting for a Monster Hunter game, you might wanna check out Ragnarok Odyssey. Maybe not at "deep" as Monster Hunter, but still a fun looking monster hunter esq game to look out for. It supposed to come out some time in July at the earliest (localization I mean).

And on that note, I just 100% the trophies for the main game lol. Hopefully the DLC packs will be out on the same day and not have to wait a few weeks. Wish there was a "Episode select" in the game so you could go back and replay your favorite moments from the game though. It's nice that they let you keep playing the game and wander the city after you beat it, but an episode select would have been great.

Well it's nice to hear that this is the kind of game you'll want to play more than once.
