Yuzo Koshiro's soundtrack is really the only thing about Streets of Rage 1 that holds up.
Atmosphere, setting, and vibes. The first game is practically a Soul II Soul, Technotronic, and Snap album rolled into one. Dat intro is legendary, and still the best intro out of all four games.

Funny mention how SoR1 holds up. Despite being a simplistic brawler, it's still better than most of the early life SNES brawlers: Final Fight 1/Guy (SNES), Final Fight 2, Rushing Beat 1/Rival Turf, Rushing Beat Ran/Brawl Brothers, Pirates of the Darkwater, and Sonic Blastman 1.

I didn't know that the Hundred-Acre Woods ran through Silent Hill.
It's the other way around. You know when you try to get out of Silent Hill, the bridge is always broken, or there's suddenly a chasm that wasn't there before?

Those aren't the town preventing you from leaving, but from entering Hundred-Acre Woods. Cuz not even Silent Hill is so cruel as to let you wander in there.
