Greatest Ending EvAr.

A few games come to mind as having some of the greatest endings ever.

I'm talking in terms of affecting an entire view of the series... or just you personally or emotionally.

Easily... one of my favorites is Mass Effect.

But to me the all time best ending is:

I think it simply changed the view of the series... the villain must now be seen as the hero in a sense. I almost felt that I lived and died as this him. To me, it only made the stories of the previous games even better.

I could go on as to why... but I wouldn't want to spoil the ending of it's sequel.

Hmm... Wind waker. But you have to be at the right age. There was very little more satisfying at the age of 15 than working for 40+hours only to watch THROUGH THE EFFING FACE!!!

I suppose it is cryptic enough... The last Zelda game I played was Link's Awakening... sadly. So it's obvious that I have no idea what you're talking about.. but I prefer not to encounter spoilers just in case I plan on playing a certain game.

Here's my favorites:

Portal - So satisfying to kill GlaDos but then find out it's not over.
Saints Row 2 - Also satisfying to shoot that big city guy and watch him fall.
Prey - Even though you lose the girl you get her back in the spirit world.

I like pretty much any game ending that has either something badass or a good cliffhanger in it.

I loved the ending of Coldshadow (the one with the ninja Donald, best Disney game ever since lionking and aladdin). Not telling you how it ended but it's so stupid it's fun.

More importantly, you find out the truth about the cake!

lost planet- (spoiler) it messet up at the end where they start to make the planet more survival.

You must be tired of hearing about MGS4 from me, but it had the finest ending of any game I have ever played.

Honourable mention goes to God Hand for the song during the credits.

ummmm metal gear solid 4, because I had to sit through HOURS of footage before getting there and I could look back knowing it was over and would never had to listen to a load of BS about proxi wars again. Isn't it a little homoerotic that a man called "Solid Snake" lives with another man in a plane and have got a kid together? might just be me then...

Considering how few games these days actually have proper endings, I'm having a hard time thinking of my favourite, I guess I'll go with Oblivion, guite a spectacle.

The endings for the Prince of Persia series the ending of the first is its beginning, at the the end of the series the whole first game never happened, and the ending of the third is the beginning/ending of the first. I thought this had one of the most sound and funnest endings, Its all a loop, the beginning is the end with a smaller loop in the middle.

I love it.
