Greatest final boss theme?

I actually had a lot of trouble coming to a conclusion but I think this is it.

There is bosses where all out pump up and ridiculously epic and insane terror are appropriate sounds... But my favorite is the heavy but soft, almost a melancholy to it.

Edit: and just to invalidate this post someone posted anything Odin Sphere above me and made my choice wrong.
Ah well, this will be my second favorite for now then.

None of that chanting vocals or awful lyrics stuff; just good, inspiring rock music that gives you the feel of a world just on the knife's edge of disaster (and appropriately, this battle takes place minutes before all of Earth is going to be nuked into oblivion)

I will agree with the OP that that music is really good. Might be relying a bit too much on the standard holy-chanting theme, but it has good rhythm.

Also: Trying to take the time to listen to most of the tracks here, but most are really good, so I'm not sure which to spend more of my time on...I like that so many of them have a certain buildup to the climactic portions of the fight. Works well for RPGs which tend to have some leading dialogue, or it takes a few turns of combat before you really feel the tension.

Goddamn, this makes me feel so tired of how most newer games, especially FPS's, haven't bothered giving you any sort of boss fight or even any large direct personal conflict with one character.

I've grown rather attached to PkMn Trainer Red's theme.

Trust me your not the only one I heard the song when my brother was playing his copy of Soul Silver and I've been addicted ever since.

As for my favourite final boss theme, well I actually like all of the Pokemon Champion themes so I'm just going to go with that. I especially love the Kanto Champion remake theme that Black and White has.

World of Warcraft's final boss theme blows all of these out of the water.

When it gets made. Until then, need I say more than that what I have in mind is the first result you get when you type in "final boss music" in the search bar of youtube (excluding the suggested videos)? The final boss and plot of the game itself weren't epic at all, so it didn't deserve such an epic final boss theme, but there you go. Just too bad the sound was generated with a DS. Most themes I see in this thread are just epic, but have little musical value. This theme has both.

It's good but i've always felt sonic adventure 2 had the stronger soundtrack...

Sadly I haven't played it. I only own a PC But I agree, the soundtrack is awesome!
