I think this movie is going to be great. There are a lot of people who don't even know who the Green Hornet is. Welcome to the awesome people.

It could've been good, but they had to put Seth "Who did he blow" Rogen in it. I have no doubt it will be a hit and make money out the ass, but with him it will be just a 21st century version of the campy 60's Batman. Then for the next few years all Super Hero movies will be made the same way- "Coming this summer, Dane Cook is The Flash".

I normally -hate- movies with Seth Rogan, they're the kind of stuff that makes me despair for the future of humanity (not just him, but those in that style) but this actually looks pretty neat.
I don't see whats to hate about Seth Rogen. Sure he's nothing special, but his films balance the toilet humour with some well developed characters.
Dick and Bum jokes are the lowest form of humour, it's okay when there is other stuff going on, but it's epidemic in "Hollywood comedy" today, there are no witty comedy like Black Adder, etc. anymore.

How can anyone not know who the Green Hornet is? I mean honestly what are they teaching in school these days... I mean FFS it had Bruce Lee in it. What's next kids who only know Arrrrrnold as a politician? The shame of the younger generation.

Jay Chou?

Holy crap this I didn't see coming.

This could be huge for him if Green Hornet does well. Which it looks like it just might from the trailer.

S'alright.

That speed camera bit is taken from Johnny English though, I shit you not.
I knew I'd seen that somewhere...

OT: Meh, looks ok, I guess. I'm not much of a Seth Rogan fan though.

Honestly I find this rather ironic. In the 1960s the creators of the Batman series known for its campy fun also produced a Green Hornet show as a more sober super hero adventure. Now nearly fifty years later there is a Green Hornet movie intentionally juxtaposing its fun atmosphere against the grittiness of the new Batman franchise as almost its key selling point. Just a thought.

Honestly I don't have high hopes for this film, the whole break the law to uphold it thing makes me instantly think that Hollywood has ruined another minor franchise. But that said I really disliked the new Batman movies because they were just so gritty (I mean seriously he has a ridiculous bat themed motorcycle how is that not even a little bit campy) and if this is the way to restore fun to the genre (at least outside Iron Man) then I'm all for it.

The trailer for The Green Hornet has hit the Web, and you know what? It looks like the movie will actually be a lot of fun.

Meanwhile, Jay Chou's straightlaced and long-suffering portrayal of Kato seems like a perfect counterbalance to Rogen.

The only thing that I couldn't have cared less about was Cameron Diaz's five seconds of screen time; in her defense, we'll have to wait and see just how big a role the character of Lenore Case is given before a final judgment can be rendered.

Overall, there's a lot of potential here. Between the goofiness, the sense of fun, and what look like some great action sequences, here's hoping this causes a whole new generation to embrace both the Green Hornet and Kato.

From what i can see noone here in the escavpist realises how BIG BIG BIG BIG BIG of a star Jay Chou is in Asia. Thats the reason he was cast as Kato...he ist a martial artist but as fame goes few can match him. Which is great cuz Bruce Lee was SUPER famous when he took up the Kato role. Also with Jay in the movie its like all chinese/taiwanese ppl will go n see the movie (or pirate it) and 2,000,000,000 ppl can make alot of box office miracles happen :D
