Greenpeace Still Hates Nintendo

Now, I can see the reasoning behind this list. Electronics have materials that, when dumped into a landfill, could possibly affect the local environment in the future. But to assign a score of zero just because they won't comment on their policies? The only thing Greenpeace is doing with that is making an ass of themselves by assuming.

It is kind of sad that Greenpeace is composed of a bunch of raving green lunatics. I am graduating in enviromental engineering and that kind of behavior only makes people more scetic about any situation.

The same thing happens with religion if the loudest voices come from bombmen, suicidal cults and inquisitors.

I love how Nintendo responds; by saying nothing. In the words of Bruce Lee; "Fighting...without fighting."

Bah. Greenpeace always seems to pull shit like this and no-one pays them any attention.

Makes me wonder why these morons haven't given up yet. It's pretty obvious their stunts do little change the public opinion on whatever they deem as a threat to the environment.

If organizations like Greenpeace would learn to stop being so batshit loopy (not saying they are in this case) then people might listen to them. In this case however, we've already decided they're not worth listening to.

...and in fact they probably aren't because apparently whatever studies they conduct on electronics producers are usually inaccurate anyway.

So...

Basically, by greenpeace's logic, if you're not shouting your 'environmental' credentials from the rooftops, you must automatically be doing everything wrong.

Right...

So end result?

Company A that does next to nothing worthwile, but tells everyone about the handful of things they do, gets a 5...

Company B, that takes things to do with the environment very seriously, but doesn't feel the need to brag about it, gets a 0, for 'not being open about it'

-Sigh-.

Yeah. That's just... Great.

Instead of a list of environmentally responsible companies, you end up with a list of who shouts the loudest about it.

Well done Greenpeace.
This is why 'activist' groups are so useless.

Does Greenpeace ever do anything beside those silly protests like chaining themselves to trees -- and apparently, giving out scores for companies for what their public policy on biodegradable electronics is? Like, some research, conservation efforts, some positive action at all? Really, I get to wonder...
Yeah they do, like getting bribed by polluting company's.

I've no doubt that large corporations fabrication plants put out large quantities of harmful bi-products, so in line with the rest of the gaming crowd here I'd say Nintendo probably isn't as bad as some companies *not* in electronics.

However it is frightening that loyalty to a company overrides appreciation for one's habitat for some.

Man, this forum has given me a real conundrum. Should I dignify this with a response, or any thought at all? Or should I just ignore it as it would be a waste of time?

...Wait, this post counts. Oh well, conundrum solved.
