I'd just like to say first that I LOVE SKYRIM, and this thread is for people who actually DO like Skyrim. If you don't like the game, and don't have anything nice to say, just leave. Don't take this as a free invitation to troll.

Now, on to the topic. What complaints do you have about Skyrim? What are some little (or large) things that, even though you like the game, just get on your nerves? For me, there are a few things. For example, I found my first grievance in the character creation screen when I found I couldn't zoom in and out on my character. I also don't care much for the new third person mode: it works smoother, yes, but again theres no way to zoom in and out on my character and I can't rotate the screen with my weapon out. Another thing, I find it stupid that, even though my character has two hands, I can only wear one ring.

What about you guys?

Having to sit thru the same interminable starting sequence for each charecter that I make. Once is fine, thanks.

I'm loving it too, and if you caught me in game, I'd point out a few things that bother me, but when I'm not playing, I can't think of many.
Crashes more than I'd like, but at a really nice rate for a bethesda game. If you get too close to some objects in the world, they look really ugly, like chains on a spool for pull chains. Don't look at the spool, it makes me sad.

Something I'd like for the next TES game is for them to extend the enchanting / smithing system to allow more aesthetic customization.

For example, let's say I like the way my character looks with leather armor but I don't like the look of elven, glass, etc as much. It would be great if I could apply the stats of the glass armor to the leather armor through some kind of smithing. That way the character would look the way I want and still be able to make use of the stats on high level items.

Definatly the one ring thing, although if you could wear a ring on every finger, and tbh wear more than one amulet aswell like you could in real life, i could quite easily just make 10 +30% damage rings and kill everything with one hit... so its probably a balance issue.

Anyways so far my only real issue is with the dragons... Whenever i see a one that has spawned randomly overhead, it NEVER attacks me, it will just fly around in a circle for 20 minutes while i try and shoot at it... ive taken to just using the no clipping command to fly into the sky, hit it, then turn off no clipping and then carrying on the fight as normal once i actually engage the dragon.

So far my biggest issue in the game is the follower a.i.

They are able to fight pretty well. But I sometimes find them being really far away from me, so as a result, I usually have to wait out an hour to get them to come back to me.

Another thing that bugs me is that they'll go off fighting random enemies when I need them the most. Erandur, you're awesome and all, but when you decide to take on some random slaughterfish while there's a pissed off Ice Dragon attacking us, I think we have some issues to discuss.

are you playing on the PC? if you are you can go through the start once, keep the save it makes just before the dragon appears, and then just use the console commands to show the character creation menu again where you make your "new" character from there.

Sneaking is a bit too easy, so I'd hope to see that adjusted in a patch ^^. (yes, a very small problem there)

PC or console? If your awesome you'll have it for PC, and then you'll just save at the mouth of that cave you come out of. When you make a new character you open the console on that save and type "showracemenu". You may now create a new character, avoid the bothersome sequence at the beginning (know what you mean, have something like 10-15 characters now) and save yourself a lot of trouble! Now knowing your level of experience I'll also say that to open the console press the button on your keyboard that is next to 1 (not 2!). Don't be offended by me saying that, just in case!

I have a few issues with the game and, aside from the silly bugs I expected, they are purely from a UI perspective.

My biggest gripe with the game is a lack of a buff bar. There's no way to easily tell what buffs/debuffs that are active on you without going through 3 steps in a menu, and that's flat-out poor design. There needs to be a way to visually identify when your buffs run out or when you're affected by a debuff, the fact that it's not there is rather galling, especially since Oblivion did it relatively well.

Right behind that is the menu interface. I like the way it's designed, but it clearly wasn't designed (or tested properly for that matter) for a mouse and keyboard. I can reliably cause the selection thing to completely de-sync from my mouse pointer, and occasionally make the entire menu un-clickable. It's very poorly implemented. I like the look and simplistic feel of it (being a UI purist), but it's just extremely poorly done in this case.

My last "big" gripe is the lack of a breath bar or audible equivalent. There's simply no way to tell how close you are to running out of breath, which makes underwater exploring a bit of a pain. It's not a huge deal, and it's never been debilitating, but it is rather aggravating.

Yes to pretty much everything the OP said. Exception is simply to note that in order to zoom in and out in 3rd person and rotate, you use the left thumbstick (on 360).

As for me, I think a large number of the finishers are pretty buggy. There have been a number of times my enemy will be completely in the wrong spot so I'm hitting air. Other times the enemy falls down before the animation starts, it gets confused and makes me go immobile until enough time has passed for the animation to have finished even though it never started.

I like the Carriage system, but don't like that only the walled cities have carriages. You can go to the others ones you just can't take a carriage once you get there. Considering two out of the four main, non-story related, factions are located near unwalled cities, it makes for a lot more trekking if you're trying to avoid map-fast-travel.

Still hate not being able to drop lit torches quickly. An Oblivion mod did this great, kinda sad Skyrim couldn't.

So, you have horses. You also have companions. But you can't have the companions ride horses?

AI is still pretty bad, but I expected that.

Lots of texture pop in, but I'm on 360 so I expected that too.

There are a lot of minor grievances like this that I have with the game, but I'm still addicted as hell to it and know I'll be playing it for months.

Once you get through the main storyline far enough to get Dragonrend, that becomes basically a non-issue. It forces a dragon hit with it to land immediately and aggros them on you. It also has a relatively short cooldown (15 seconds with all 3 words), so you can usually get a few dozen off before the dragon decides to leave, and if you can't hit it with that, I'm not sure anything can be done.

Raj hate skeevers.
Seems like everytime i run into them i get nasty disease. Always reminds me of time dated Argonian.

Name was "Sleeps-With-Many-Strangers". Raj had strangest rash for next month. And must say, wife Mjoll was not happy about it one bit.

And potions! Why do all weight the same?

But what really bother Raj is how everyone have same underwear! Not even native to Skyrim, Raj come from Hammerfell, yet strange man in cave have same underwear as me. Dont ask why Raj is looking at everyones underwear. Is Khajiit thing, you wouldnt understand.

The game looks awesome but seeing fish floating in the air where water is supposed to be located but you can't see it is annoying. Also found a pocket of air at the bottem of a waterfilled area which was interesting as well. A little lag in the game and a few places my character gets stuck are also very annoying.

Those are my only gripes at the moment.

Loading screens

The inability to separate items in containers into categories

Frame rate drops

Quest markers getting confused

My shouts locking up during fights

That's about it really. Game is amazing.

Make it so you can walk through companions. No one will even notice the lack of realism never mind care about it, it's a game where I can shoot down dragons by hurling fire out of my unprotected hands.

I've never seen the PC UI so I can't comment on it but from what I've heard it sounds like it's in need of some fixing.

Also why can't I wear two rings? Since the very first computer games it's always been two rings. It's hardly game breaking but it's unusual.

Frost trolls being harder to kill than dragons.

Giants being even harder to kill.

Random little bugs and glitches. Such as NPCs freezing on the spot or such.

Apart from that the game is absolutely amazing.

Or just make a save as soon as you step off the cart at the beginning, before you even step forward. Then make sure to keep that one as your start point for new characters. That's what I did at the very start anyway.

EDIT: To add -

I know that there is a patch due in about a week but if you're on PS3, rebuilding the database on the console helped a hell of a lot for me. Also, turn all the autosave stuff off. It's still not 100% perfect but it's a hell of a lot better than it was before.

If you don't know how to rebuild the database here's how:

1) With the console turned off, press AND HOLD the power button. You will hear a beep, keep holding and you will hear a second beep about 5 seconds later. Keep holding the button and you will hear a third beep as the console powers down.

2) Once the console has shut down again, press AND HOLD the power button. You will hear the first beep, and the second beep 5 seconds later. About 5 seconds after that, this time you will hear two quick beeps. Release the power button AS SOON as you hear the two quick beeps.

3) Plug a controller in with a USB cable, run through the video diagnostic thingy then when the recovery menu appears select "REBUILD DATABASE". Takes about 5 minutes, and it just clears up some of the shit on your hard drive. While not exactly the same as defragging a PC it's a vaguely similar principle and seems to be helping some people who are having this issue.
