Well the show is on BBC 2 (UK) now and I was wondering:
Am I the only person here that doesn't get any great pleasure in the new year?
I mean, it's just another year, one closer to your death and ultimately the destruction of the universe... disappointment anyone?

I'm glad for the time off work, other than that I couldn't care less for it. Spent my night watching films with my dad...had enough new years now to know that they aren't special...or as fun as you think they will be.

I'm very glad 2008 is over, I was hoping it would have been a good year since 8 is my lucky number... But it was grinding, boring and disappointing...
I have a feeling 2009 isn't going to be much better... but even if there's a shitty New Year's celebration on TV and bad Champagne then I'll still enjoy it to some degree.

For me personally and for the world at large, 2008 was probably the worst year ever (those two things are certainly related). So I'm happy that it's New Year's only because I can't wait for 8 to become 9 and I can try to forget about the hell I went though the last 12 months.

Otherwise it's little more than a pain. All the shops closed up early today, and I've got a tail light out on New Year's Eve night. Boo!

2009 sucks

I agree 09 and 10 sound like bad years. I'm very excited for 2011 it just FEELS like a good year. My hunches are usually pretty good.
