I just wanted to know if there are any grunge fans on the escapist even though I know that most of you are metalheads anyway. But if you like grunge then post your favorite grunge band. I dont really have a favorite grunge band because I listen to them all but if I had a favorite it would have to be either nirvana, soundgarden or the stone temple pilots.

Seether are great, although I think they might be classified as Post-Grunge?

Nirvana are okay although I can't say I'm a huge fan. Same with Stone Temple Pilots. It's good music that I will happily listen to, but my general list of bands is considerably heavier.

Here's the biggest grunge fan on the site.

I'm not big into it, I used to be a big Nirvana fan, but I only really like their song "School" now.

I love AIC though.

Wikipedia has 3 Doors Down as post grunge. I guess they count then.

I really like them.

Some of The Foo Fighter's earlier work was grunge. And I love everything involved with them, so yes, I like grunge.

Pearl Jam is cool, not really a huge fan of their lead singer though, too deep.

I like Nirvana and Alice in Chains, and I probably like more without knowing it's grunge.

I have Nirvana's discography and have listened to every song atleast two times. Pretty much any grunge band I've listened to in some way/shape/forum.

Needless to say I like grunge.

Grunge is my religion :D
its nice to know there are still people who listen to it.
As for favorite band ... well there is no possible way for me to choose one so basically the entire 90s Seattle sound IE Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Alice in Chains, Melvins, Skin Yard, Temple of the Dog. I also like how there were so many bands that could adopt the grunge sound for one or two songs.
And even though many say Smashing Pumpkins is not grunge it will always be in my mind one of the best bands of that era I know.

Alice in Chains is probably the best. Soundgarden is a very close second. Pearl Jam is also great. Nirvana is good, though not quite as much as the others. Stone Temple Pilots are also good. I also like Madseason and Temple of the Dog.

Post grunge isn't grunge. That's sort of the point, it's after grunge and therefore not grunge.

I grew up on it and still love some grunge every now and then. I really wish Audioslave would make some more Soundgarden inspired songs. Some STP is always easy to listen to, too. My favorite Nirvana song has always been "Heart Shaped Box".

Grunge is my easy listening music, but I really like it. I have most of the Pearl Jam albums, and all of Soundgarden, Nirvana, STP, and Alice In Chains. The only thing bad about listening to grunge is the fact that some of the better bands, namely Alice In Chains, and Nirvana, have important band members that died.

I don't think Jane's Addiction was grunge, still a good band though.

I feel like i was born after my era because it is my favorite type of music and Im only 16. I also love to play this type of music because it is so unique unlike todays generic crap.
