This is not a video game related story, it's a gbh/mugging article.

Does ANY media outlet hold itself to a high standard?????

Damn Escapist, we expect this sort of slant from the Daily Mail. From you? We expect better.
There was a slant?
I didn't notice it.
Consider the circumstances of the crime without any mention of the game: A violent mugging happened after midnight in London. Think for a moment on whether or not this is a remarkable occurrence. Then look at the headline. Consider that the very existence of the article might be the slant.

I see what you're saying. You could be right, but I think the mention of GTA V is only there to make it relevant to us. Us being people-who-play-games.
I'd be suspect if the wording of the article was different, but I don't think video games are being blamed. I see it more like this:

http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/124532-Oculus-Rift-Co-Founder-Dies-In-Police-Chase-Incident

Although someone dying in a police car chase is, admittedly, rarer than a mugging in London. It gets put on this website because it has something to do with games.

I dunno, you could be right.

Don't worry, the news will blame GTA for this attack and games can be seen as the trigger for every single homicidal maniac and braindead youth this side of the century...

BUT THAT'S ALRIGHT
BLAME THE GAMES
IT'S THE GAMES FAULT!

Of course, a decent punishment system for these kinds of attacks would be more ideal... What the world needs is a videogame court... If you use the excuse "video games made me do it" in court or whatever then you get sent to a country without TV or games of any kind for three years... THEN see who's fault it is...

What happened to travelling in groups for safety?
I've never traveled in groups to get a game or console, then again I live in an area where stabbing or shooting someone isn't the social equiv of a hand shake :p.

OT: Glad to hear the pricks have been caught so soon, hope the items were recovered and they get the law slammed down on them especially because their young (they need to be taught a lesson).
