GTA V Rumor-It's only going to be available via digital distribution.

I was reading this article and apparently analysts at Newzoo predict that the game will only be available via digital distribution. I find this hard to believe given how console gamers feel about Digital only games (at least the ones I know)

I don't think I can say the websites name that I read this on but I'll tell you that it's name is a three letter acronym beginning with I.

IGN? Also, that doesnt make a whole lot of sense surely? The download file would be so huge it would alienate everyone with an older xbox hard drive?

Not going to happen. For the PC (if they bother to release it for the PC to begin with), maybe. Consoles; no way in hell. GTA is way too huge to skip a real release.

Three letter acronym beginning with I? IGN, bit obvious...but yeah, this won't happen. Seriously, Rockstar haven't released any information except the release date for the trailer, so any rumours or anything is pure, pure speculation.

You know how you know that rumor's false? It came from an "analyst".

(Funny enough: when I clicked on that link above I expected it to be Michael Pachter, and the first sentence of the article is "it's not Michael Pachter!"....which just proves that being entirely wrong isn't exclusive to him.)

The switch to digital distribution isn't something that's "just going to happen", and it's not something a major game publisher is going to just decide to do. It's a simple fact: games in stores mean more sales.
