While I can appreciate the more realistic suggestions you made, that kind of stuff falls contrary to Rockstars design philosophy for GTA since III. Now, I think it would be awesome to have a realistic mode in which we could engage the story from that angle because i already set restrictions on my characters while role playing and having that extra bit in there would be cool. Having that be mandatory would take away too much player agency regarding the dynamism that they've established gameplay-wise though.
Everything you wrote regarding that female protagonist though, and I do mean EVERY-SINGLE-THING is just simply hot to death. I really want a female character in the next joint now lol. Talia is great but I would like someone who's been properly trained to deal with all of the physicality that the male characters get into. Maybe and ex-cia chick gone private sector along the lines of Ani (the woman in the True Detective season 2 trio) would make a pretty good template.
I understand what you mean. I think that perhaps as I suggested for the online, being able to switch the realistic guns mode off and on (except in a mission once it starts) would be good. That way like auto-aim/free-aim and FPS/3rd person, players can choose what they prefer.
I think Rockstar doesn't know what they want since GTA IV, they go for all these realistic details, turning on highbeams, gauges on planes that work, euphoria physics etc. But still want the slapstick rampages of the older games. But yeah I tend to play with restrictions on myself for roleplaying/realism. But I understand others might not. Still I'll keep dreaming for the day I have to make a mad dash for the trunk of my car to get a shotgun to turn the tide.
Back on female protagonist. I just don't know why they didn't do in GTA V. The 3 person perspective is the safest way of launching a female characters. People who might complain of playing a female still have the other 2 males to fall back on.
The crazy thing is that character almost exists already. Karen Daniels. The girl who dated Nico in GTA 4 and was secretly IAA. She makes a cameo in GTA V on the mission involving the IAA "Three Company". Except you know instead of being awesome she is threatening to sodomise someone with a flashlight.
