GTA4 graphics wtf?

right so i i have installed gta4 on my pc only to find its telling me my system isnt strong enough its gotten rid of the ingame hud and menus and is not showing the sky and random black blotches show up.

now i know my system is not weak it runs fallout 3 in a better way than the 360 and ps3 does, i can even have a mob of 100's of enemys without problems at the highest setting.and really fallout 3 has better graphics than gta 4

what im trying to say really is WTF is going on and is there anyway i can fix this?

The GTA4 port, to my understanding, is a very bad port to the PC. They hardly did any optimizing for it run well on any gaming computer, and well, you can have the best damn computer out there, but if it isn't optimized to run properly, it ain't going to.

GTA4 for PC sucks. It can't use the processing power completely. There may be some mods or a patches that could help fix your problem. If you can return the game, and get it on a different platform, then that would be your best choice.

You should'nt have got it for PC. The PS3 version sucks ass all the way. 360 FTW!

I suggest going into video options and fucking around for a few minutes until something goes on fire. Thats what I do.

But yeah, I can understand wanting the PC version (mods+GTA=awesome), but both the 360 and PS3 are much better.

in response to you all i have even tried riva tuner and boosted my computer so much that it could run real life graphics but no avvail just more glitchyness im looking for fixer mods and patches now but if i cant find any itll be uninstalled and returned.

*sigh* at least saints row 2 will run on pc

Theres nothing wrong with the PS3 version of GTA IV...
Aside from the fact that:
"It takes a shotgun to the face with Microsoft paying for exclusive DLC" -GameInformer
I actually favored the control with the Dualshocks to the 360 Controller, but thats just a personal preference.

its a extremely awful port. I have to play GTA4 quite low settings, even though I play crysis on high with better FPS. when it rains I get video lag like crazy (edit in gta4 that is).

all the signing in to rockstar social club, and live and the securom check being anal makes me wish I'd pirated it. it deserves to be pirated with that much anti piracy crap making it unplayable when you actually buy it.

its also a very overated bland game imo.

GTA IV is actually harder to run than Crysis on PC. Surprising, yes. Sucky, yes. Your rig=fail...yes... I'm sorry but you're going to have to make some concessions with the settings.

I don't know of the other Rockstar games, but all the Grand Theft Auto series from 3 on has limited support on the PC. It leads me to believe that Rockstar is a console whore and couldnt care less about their PC customers. But it pays to tweak the settings as much as you can and check the support forums. Maybe someone there found a good tweak. Don't get your hopes up for any patches though, especially since the DLC was released for console only. (and Xbox 360 only to boot at that, tho I might have missed a newsbite)

i liked gta3, and vice city, and then came san andreas and ruined the entire franchise.

im pretty sure that "the game is crap" is an opinion, kinda like "the game isnt crap" is your opinion. i will be dead honest, the 2 most worthless games i bought this year were gta4 and spore. and spore at least is still installed.
