GTTV Yesterday, SONY GETS ***** SLAPPED!

So yesterday on GTTV (gametrailers TV) (http://www.gametrailers.com/gametrailerstv_player.php?ep=55&sd=1&ch=1) Nintendo's (President?) ***** slapped sony at the end of the episode and I literally thought to myself "Ohhhhh Shit It's ON NOW!" here is the qoute (Question being "What is good about the ps3?") "I think we try to do this, having me say something nice about the ps3...they have alot of nice games they have been able to bring out and some good content but you look at the results and you know they have problems"

It doesn't sound as much of a ***** slap as it did when he said it but you get the message.

Being a wii owner (Never use the damn thing) and a hardcore PC gamer I'm on sony's side in general but it's really cool to see the man that said "We Bring More Smiles" kick so much ass.

What do you think?

Well, in terms of sales Nintendo has the right to say they are doing things right, and that the worst selling console is doing things wrong. The only problem I have, is that I find it hard to compare the two consoles, considering they really aren't in competition of each other. Generally the PS3 is directed to a younger, teen-ish audience that enjoys the graphical prowess the PS3 brings, where Nintendo directs their "neat" games to all age groups.

I don't think what mr Fils-Amore said was wrong by any means, and I highly doubt a heated conrtoversy over this. If you are dominating sales, its very easy to say that you are awesome, but I have a hard time finding Wii owners that say they are completely happy with that console, so they are obviously doing things wrong as well, smiles aside.

hmm that is good, what is good about the PS3 it has the same shooter games as all other consoles, the same RPGs as all other consoles it's name is another console with a number 3 at the end, it has blue ray, which would be better on a computer anyway, it has online like aother consoles, it has control like other consoles, it has home which is same as second life, it has nothing that is original really, but that is my personal opinion though unless a game has something original, I generally declare it shit, unless it has fucking awesome gameplay, graphics or a well laid out interface or gameplay mechaincs, hit me up on anything and I can point out originality that alot of people miss out, maybe KZ2 is good I don't know I only ever borrow my mates PS3 and even then he has yet to get that game.

Wow. Up until now I never though the heads of the various companys actually cared about the the fanboy war (refuse to use the term console war) But hay I've been wrong before. And it seems I am againe.

EDIT: I think that the Sony executives are above such stuff like this so unless someone actually asks them what they think they won't say anything. But the fanboys will. Oh yes they will.

The playstation has the VALVe of the consoles :Insomniac Games
They don't need more than that to be eqaul to nintendo in awesomeness
Sony has the Ratchet, Jak AND resistance series UNDER THEIR BELT
and they have naughty dog and whoever the fuck made killzone and whoever is making infamous
and it has free online
and a Blu-Ray player for about the amount it costs to put one in your computer (400 for the acutal disk drive) and the thing about the ps3 is that the name makes sense, it's a Station (it sure is big enough to qaulify) and you play games on it and it's the third one... The wii's name by comparison didn't make sense until 2008 where it meane "WE" like all of us playing horrible games together and the one that DOESN'T make sense and is really stupid is Mircosoft's console Xbox 2 = 360 a 360 is a circle and we have some weird ass hourglass thing that has shitty games and attracts shittier people.

I am a PC gamer through and through, I am buying a ps3 in the summer because I realise that when my PC games are making me go through excruciatingly long loading times I can play killzone 2 on my ps3. And if someone gives you shit that you have a ps3 and "IT SUCKS" you can just hit their head with it and they will probobly get knocked out.

But that is the truth, and this is coming from the #2 PS3-fanboy here.

While I absolutely hate Reggie's guts, he is absolutely right here. The Ps3 has some outstanding games, but the results aren't optimal. This could either be referring to the games not selling well themselves, or the Ps3 not selling well itself, or both, but the PS3 isn't exactly the best selling console right now.

Though as the #2 fanboy here, I am obligated to say that the PS3 will providentially outsell at least the 360, and has already done so many times before!

At least he had the decency to compliment them halfway.

Wii started hot. Some great titles and fun games, now they are fizzling. I have a Wii and atm there aren't any titles I am eagerly awaiting.

I also have a PS3 and 360, Im a geek i know, but I love my PS3 to death. I know the titles aren't there atm and I hope to god they will be soon but in the time i have had my PS3 I have sent my 360 in 4 times for repairs.

Most the games are a collection of PS1 and PS2 games which make having a PS3 all that much more better for me. But in comparing Wii and PS3, its like comparing the sale of Candy canes around Xmas to Candy Canes around July 4th, just dont work.

I'm honestly not sure whether or not to report this post. I don't want to spam the mods, and you have backed up your arguments with some evidence, but it's still basically rabid fanboyism. Can I get a mod's opinion here? Is this crossing the line or not?

Studies have shown that in the 360's first year from launch compared to the PS3's first year at launch, the PS3 has sold at a faster rate than the 360. Also, the PS3 is kicking the 360's ass in Japan as well as in various other countries in Europe (though that varies from country to country in Europe).

And now that I actually looked at the damn video (always look at videos as it may be taken out of context), I'll appreciate Reggie's reluctance to say something not redeeming and that he was honest and deliberately wanting to find something good to say.

I still hate his guts though.

Ah right, gotcha. No surprises about Japan, of course - the PS3 was always going to win there. I think Australia is the same as parts of Europe too in that the PS3 is selling faster than the 360.

I am not really a fanboy anyways, I just don't like the fact that the 360 breaks alot, the controller hurts my hands, the microphone is in a shitty place and the people who play online think "******!!!" is a normal word. I rant about the wii sometimes because I don't like the direction Nintendo has chosen and the type of people they attract. I like sony because I don't have a ps3 and I have a list of 20+ games that I want and I need a new dvd player, the ps2 is a crappy one =/.

AND I was also insulting the ps3 by noting that the thing is heavier than my FAT laptop (Dell Vostro 1500 series) and 5 pounds short of being as big as my baby sister.

I still play my Wii, and I'm buying punchout.. I'll buy a PS3 maybe when they get Ninja Gaiden and Tales of Vesperia... right now, there's no need for a PS3 as it'd just be a bluray machine. I don't care for console shooters, srpgs, or stuff I can play on my PC already. .. and I'm not buying a poor man's PC.. the Xbox 360 so it can fail on me.

PC + Wii has been the logical choice of this generation, but there's a few games I'd like to play that unfortunately aren't coming to PC.. so.. I have to make a decision.. and probably side with sony between Sony and Microsoft.

ive got no real opinion on the topic. I dont feel obligated to any console, but this gen i prefer the xbox for its range in games. I have a wii but its probably the worst purchase ive ever made

Even thou the 360 breaks most people still buy replacements.But you don't ever hear that about PS3 what you do hear is 360 or Wii.So what about the blu-ray there was an ad in paper $160 there getting cheap now.CEO cage-match. All the consoles each have problems.
