Here's hoping. I have MAG and KZ2 and it certainly feels painful in comparison. In MAG you rotate and move around instantaneously, while KZ2 feels like you are playing it on a pc without mouse acceleration. It would be my favorite FPS if it wasn't for that and for the R3 aim toggle.

I played killzone a little but i didnt think that there was anything really wrong with the controls. It could have used a little more responsive but there is no need for a huge rebuild of the old controls. Not saying that it wont help but i dont see any reason for anything other than a few tweaks.

I only ever played the demo, but the controls turned me off completely. I couldn't stand the aiming delay. It felt like trying to draw a picture with a pencil tied to a kite. If they adopt a more standard feel and layout for the third game, I'm a buyer.

YES! Thank freakin' Christ! Hopefully that means I can enjoy the third entry in the series as much as I enjoyed Liberation.

I guess this is good news for PS3 owners, are you thinking into porting it to the PC BTW?
Guerrilla Games (or at least the KZ franchise) is owned by Sony, so it's doubtful if not impossible that KZ3 will arrive on PC.

Yep, I know that, but I still can dream a little bit, can't I?
KZ isn't really the game I would like to get ported, it would be rather MGS3 & 4, the Fatal Frame series, Shadow of the Colossus and Okami, but since all of those are old games, I'd doubt that they'll ever get to the platform.
It would be nice that Sony would show some support for the PC though.

"Guerrilla was keen to keep the "unique sense of weight" that Killzone 2 had as it was something that players had responded positively to"

Fuck that. The slugish controls were what kept me from playing that game. If they're there in KZ3. I'm not buying it.

Please don't make me go through a "if you want an exclusive, just buy the damn console!" argument again, I've gone through those so many times... (PM if you really want to know what I'm thinking)

Actually that wasn't the point of that comment. I already have got a lot of those, but also because a PS2 in Mexico is about the cost of a PS3 in the USA, at least where I live. So that's why I do not want to buy a console, and also because one can build decent PC's a lot more cheaper than a console. So that's why. but thanks for your suggestion of buying a console.

That wasn't precisely what I meant either, but we'll leave it at that lest we get off topic. We can PM a discussion if you'd like.

Good to hear. The aiming in Killzone 2 sucked balls.
I agree wholeheartedly. I remember trying to get the trophy for five pistol headshots in a row.. My god that was horrible.

That could be good. I would always go to zoom out on the sniper rifle and wind up pulling out a grenade.

I cannot say much on the issue, as i've not played Killzone 2 - but i have heard both "wow, these controls suck" and "wow, these controls are immersive" sides of the argument. I guess that the clunkiness really was too much for anyone but the most persistent.

Have they fixed it so you're not 4'5"? Walk up to someone in that game and you're looking at their chest :)
Well, maybe Sevchenko is actually a Lombax, but no-one mentions it. Because if they did, they'd get murdered.

Where did you hear this sensible and intelligent heresy?!

As gamers, we are a silly lot, talking about "skill" and ranting how "autoaim" taints the experience. "Realism" we cry, as we fly across other planets in our hover cars. Skill and realism don't count for anything when you aren't having fun. KZ2's multiplayer design was easily a years ahead of its time, possessing a uniquely organic quality, but the misguided principle that drove Guerrilla to make the controls "weighty" virtually destroyed what would have been the best shooter this generation.

How could that happen? Did they focus test this game? Did they have to explain to those test groups "No, it's supposed to be that way"?
