I know there isn't going to be a lot of discussion here from non GW players but on to what this is about. Basically I just wanted to make this thread so people can post any GW builds that they have made to other players and we can discuss them or any builds they have or any recommendations for builds. This thread could also be used to discuss skill balances made by updates, etc. As soon as I get another chance I'll stick up a few of my own builds to get the ball rolling after this new skill balance to see how they fare with changes.

Bah, you're about a year and a half too late. Or was it 2 years? I stopped playing Guild Wars regularly a damned long time ago, but I stop by on it every now and then.

I know that my favorite of the many characters I made was my Necromancer, who was a terrific Minion Master who could actually cause some damage outside of his minions or the lame, generic staff/wand attack.

I also gave him a personalized SV build which worked well enough to keep me from dying. Ever.

It'll take the release of Guild Wars 2 to truly get me back into the game though...

Well I thought the thread might be a good idea since there was a recent massive skill balance and Anet decided since they were ruining Shadow Form farming they didn't want anyone else to be left out and ruined a lot of current farming builds particularly my 600 CoF run build.

I'll check those out especially the farming one. Do you get many drops there or do you just farm for Asura points? Also template codes would be nice for the builds if you have them.

Saurian Bones (for when nicholas is around), assassin tomes, claws of the broodmother, rare dyes

so yeah there's some good drops

If you haven't done the Asura quests for mental block and air of superiority, magnetic aura and glyph of renewal do the same thing

I don't have the exact details of my build... but I found two rather effective & unique combo's as a W/E, which I had been playing since Beta. It was weak against Mesmer's and classes that could strip enchantments, but a powerhouse against anything else. I dubbed it the Pyro Tank.

1. First of all you need a flame sword and the spell enchant flame. I found that using this combo you can make up in base damage for having a higher Flame Magic stats and lower Sword skills. Second there is a spell later in the original game, a glyph of some kind I think but I can't remember the name, that when applied to an opponent lasts for 17-20 seconds and causes a few seconds of burning for each flame spell used against them. Coincidental, an attack from a Flame enchanted flame sword counted as a Flame spell (at the time at least). So combine the two and you can set your opponent on fire for 20 seconds while hacking away at them.

2. Similar idea, different method. There is an elite warrior skill that recharges energy after each hit. Combine this with the spell that sets the enemy on fire and recharges after 3 seconds, and you can burn an enemy indefinitely while attacking them.

Through the course of the game I went through a lot of builds, but that's what ended up working the best for me at the end. For armour I always used the Gladitor armour and leggings for +5 energy, then the boots, guantlets, and helmet that gave damage resistance to balance it out and look a little more badass.

The elite skill you mean is Warrior's Endurance or something along those lines. I know what kinda build you are talking about I made a similar one. The spell you mean is a hex Mark of Rodgort or something like that. That is definitely a good build for war as you can stack bleed, burn and deep wound possibly cripple depending on your skill bar.

I'd like to offer some helpful changes, change the sword to a hammer with a firey hammer haft, switch the elite to Dwarven battle stance the recent update made it absurd as fuck (+33% attack speed, +40 armor, attack skills interrupt foes) Bonetti's Defense can be used for energy management but for even better managment have a Hero Mo/any any/Mo maintain Balthazar's Spirit on you so in heavy combat you can spam your warrior attacks nonstop (targeting a monk with this will make it useless) I recommend Whirlwind Attack since it's an AoE skill

Balthazar's spirit gives one strike of adrenalin per point of Smiting Prayers so with 6 Smiting Prayers as long as you get hit at least once per second you can spam Whirlwind Attack indefinitely

Damn that is a really effective build throw in air of superiority to maintain DBS

Actually I'm probably in a little over my head here as I really only went through 3 Guild War phases all within the first year and a half of its release, and never got into any of the expansions. It was nice though to see my class combo which I had from Beta go from being a waste of time near the start to a prominent build half a year later. I like to think that with a game like this if everyone starts from scratch at the same time and cannot share strategies and builds I'll be better than 95% of the players out there.

Trust me you probably still are. There of a lot of wikibots which just go to wiki for builds and only use what is in the current the meta so you get a lot of builds that are just the same old shit over and over. I really hated that SoJ sin build though.

I looked through my templates and dug up a Jade Quarry build, I made a while back. It's a Ranger that infects all the Quarry defenders with conditions. I believe that these are the skills: OgUSMYMToA1UzG+WXiHH/a+G and this is the armor: PkpRcOfzjSqwn5ID70n5IBLzi5IZRvn5IBrzn5IBLA You should use a high energy weapon with it. Also, I don't think I put superior Wilderness Survival. That is really helpful for taking out the enemy with the original conditions.

A good idea is to post the skills instead of just the template code since right now I'm doing a bootscan of my desktop and my laptop doesn't have GW on it (also means less alt+tabbing)
