Spore, and its expansions.

I know, they're by no means perfect and don't live up to the absurd pre-release hype at all, but I still enjoy using the game as a creative tool. And in many ways, the best members of the online community more than make up for the faults of the core game via their sheer creativity- the various creature and level editors have been used to produce some seriously impressive stuff over the past couple of years.

Besides, any piece of software that's been used for such diverse purposes as adapting Kafka's Metamorphosis, parodying silent movies, telling a brief Jack the Ripper story and presenting a fictional TV show about alien wildlife can't be entirely worthless.

Tomb Raider I guess counts... and dragon ball z; budokai 3 was epic.
Dragonball Z: Budokai 3 is one of my favorite fighters! My best character is Android 17.

But my absolute guilty pleasure would be... Tenchu: Wrath of Heaven.

Yes, I agree. Hell, I think it's just plain underrated rather than just being a guilty pleasure. I just got into playing it again and I've been having shitloads of fun making creatures and killing them in the main game. Also, the Galactic Adventures expansion turned out better than I expected. I'm amking a bunch of great games in that.
... Man, that game is severely underrated.

OT: Apart form Spore, I'll have to say Animal Crossing. I feel guilty to say that but it's true.

My little brother bought My Sims Kingdom for the Wii and I became obsessed with it... had to play through all the content. It's like babyWoW.

In Mexico things are VERY different. For example, everyone agrees that Half Life is probably one if not the best shooter ever made, right?

Well in Mexico is backwards. They consider RE4, GTA SA and Halo to be THE best and only games in the world. It's tiresome to always hear them talking about the same games over and over again.

So yeah, any other game apart from those three are My guilty pleasure in here were I live, Mexico.

But other than that I don't think I have anything which you should consider it.

A Predator missile is on its way.

On topic: I think the Call of Duty series has kind of gone downhill story-wise. My favoritest CoD game is Big Red One for Gamecube; the storytelling made me actually care about the guys next to me. I literally sat there for a few minutes when Brooklyn died (I'm from the Bronx, Sarge!) In the newer games, I just don't have that connection that I used to.

My Sims 3 neighborhood stands testament to both my penchant for liking builder-type games a little too much and to my inherent sadism, in equal measure.

I like playing "Lips" alone.

That's right. I play a karaoke game sober. And alone.
Same as this but Guitar Hero: World Tour.
On microphone.
Singing 'Misery Business'.
And 'Monsoon'. Endlessly.

Dynasty Warriors 3. It's just so mindlessly fun!

Also, I still like playing music games even though they're about as dead as disco

I love Alone in the Dark 5. It's a bad game, but I love it to death- I might actually buy a used PS3 Inferno copy so I can actually finish it, since it was a rental when I played.

Also, I never played Rayman, but I played Tonic Trouble. Hrmmm..

So let's face it: everyone has their guilty pleasures, whether it be in music or movies or whatever else you like. (For example, I'll admit, I like one or two Attack! Attack! songs, even though they're quite awful)

But what about video games? Are there any games you love that others laugh at or say isn't as good as you think it is?

For example, I love the game Dark Sector, a game many people didn't like and my friends all hate.

Same with the old school Pokemon games for the old school Gameboy. Many people I know tell me how stupid they are, but I can't ever stop loving them.

So my question to all of you is this: what guilty pleasure games do you play even when everyone else hates on it? I'm interested to see what you all say =]
Haze, Fracture, Mirrors edge, Naruto: Rise of a ninja, Final fantasy VIII, Vampire's Rain: Altered species. that's about it for me. Oh, also, Sonic Unleashed.

Nobody I knew liked Patapon outside maybe one or two people, but I loved it, it was the first rhythm game I liked, and is still the only one I like.
I love Patapon! And Patapon 2! I want to hit my friend for not liking it (though his reasons are entirely valid) and everyone else for not playing it.
...
Pata pata pata PON! :3

Black & White 2.
Though I can tell the game sucks, I'm just amused by it, for some reason.
